Hillary Clinton memoir to release June 10

Washington (CNN) – Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's latest memoir on the years she spent heading the State Department has an official release date - June 10, 2014.

The book is an important one for Clinton – the overwhelming favorite to win the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination should she run. Critics have charged that her time as America's top diplomat was marked by no crowning achievement, while Clinton confidants have looked to frame those years as a success and see the book as the most potent way to do that.

Clinton's book doesn't have a title yet, according to the memoir's website that still reads, "A New Memoir by Hillary Rodham Clinton."

The website does, however, say that in the book Clinton "shares candid reflections about key moments during her time as Secretary of State as well as her thoughts about how to navigate the challenges of the 21st century."

The book will be published by Simon & Schuster.

Since leaving the State Department, Clinton has toured the country on the paid speaking circuit. In recent appearances, she has mentioned her book and said it will discuss a range of issues, including Iran, Syria and Libya.

She has joked that the memoir will be "just another light summer read" and will cover topics from "Crimea to climate change."

Clinton has admitted that writing the memoir has been difficult and at a March event in Montreal, she said reliving her time heading the State Department has been "eye opening."

"Reliving some of what you refer to has been eye opening because when you are in the middle of it, you get up every day, you put one foot in front of the other and try to do the best you can," she told the audience.

At a March appearance with the Association of American Publishers in New York City, Clinton reflected on the writing process.

"If you did see my study at home, you would think it was an episode from 'The Hoarders.' The notes, the pages, the drafts - It is amazing," she said. "I now have barrels and barrels of old drafts in case anybody wants to see them again."

She also joked about the book's title, pointing to a Washington Post contest that asked readers to submit suggestions.

One of her favorites was "It Takes a World," which she said would be a "fitting sequel" to her 1996 book "It Takes a Village." Another suggestion, "Bossy Pantsuit," plays off her self-described love of actress Tina Fey, who penned the 2011 memoir "Bossypants."

Her favorite submission, and one that she has mentioned at multiple speaking engagements, is "The Scrunchie Chronicles: 112 Countries and It's Still All About My Hair."

Clinton is not new to the publishing world, with multiple titles to her name, including her 2004 memoir "Living History," "It Takes a Village" and "An Invitation To The White House: At Home With History" (2000). She also wrote a Children's book in 1998 titled "Dear Socks, Dear Buddy: Kid's Letters to the First Pets."

CNN's Ashley Killough contributed to this report.

Those who claim she did nothing in her career simply haven't looked into it. The book will not help quiet the naysayers. The Conspiracy folks will still ignore all successes and claimed the imaginary conspiracy stuff was left out on purpose. Which is of course conveniently a whole new conspiracy theory.
    (sigh)

Will it discuss Whitewater, or the convenient deaths of several people close to the Clintons?

    @Or
Or will it discuss how Bush Sr. used EH Hunt as the hit man to kill JFK?

Or how Prescott Bush profited by being Hitler's banker while our boys were being killed in WW2?
