Tea party primary challenger ad says Boehner has 'Electile Dysfunction'

(CNN) - It's not the first time House Speaker John Boehner's name has been used to make a sophomoric sex joke, but it could be the most memorable.

The Ohio Republican's primary opponent, tea party-backed J.D. Winteregg, is using Boehner's name in a parody themed campaign ad, which accuses the longtime congressman of having "Electile Dysfunction."

The ad mimics commercials marketing drugs for male sexual dysfunction.

The ad says a daily dose of "Winteregg in Congress will help you every time the moment is right to have your voice heard at the federal level."

And Winteregg's ad doesn't stop with Boehner's name.

"Other signs of Electile Dysfunction may include extreme skin discoloration, the inability to punch oneself out of a wet paper bag, or maintain a spin in the face of liberal opposition," the narrator says. "If you have a Boehner lasting longer than 23 years, seek immediate medical attention."

Boehner has multiple challengers in the May 6 primary, including Winteregg, who has the backing of the Tea Party Leadership Fund PAC - but chances of beating the 12-term lawmaker are slim.

Boehner, presumably used to the well-worn digs at his name, has joked about it in the past.

Recently, after a reporter accidentally called him "Mr. Camp," he said, "It's boner. Boner."

Boehner's team represents Ohio's 8th Congressional district in the southwestern part of the state. His re-election team has said they're running a TV ad in the Cincinnati and Dayton to rev up the Republican base ahead of the election season.

CNN reached out to Boehner's office for comment on the ad.

Welcome to the mind of the typical tea party political candidate, where petty insults and banal snark routinely fill the void created by a lack of substance and intellectual insight.

Having lived in japan on an Overseas posting ( ex pat) basis for many years I am quite used to having many types of frequent erections held including those of the political election type. Ask 95 % of Japanese what they are doing on Senkyo day and the reply to the untrained foreign ear is having an erection.
    You have to laugh!!

Is it already time to watch the GOP eat their own again? Given how much time they've dedicated to comparing Obama to the second coming of Mengele & Hitler combined, you'd think they'd learned by now. Say hello to President Biden or President Mrs. Clinton in 2 1/2 years.

Can't men say anything without having to go to the lower basic instincts of the male productive area .. all the time! I get so tired of it. There's much more to life than the constant reminder of the constant thoughts of men.

Electile dysfunction, and the name Boehner does not go together.

Maybe the Tea Party can get a group discount since electile dysfunction seems to be spreading in their party. As a party they can't seen to get it up. Winteregg may soon have egg all over his face.

"CNN reached out to Boehner's office for comment on the ad."

Yeah. Because giving the TeaParty infants more free advertisement is doing what exactly for CNN's ratings?

More partisan 'investigative journalism' from CNN.

"There's much more to life than the constant reminder of the constant thoughts of men." Yeah? If your post was intended as a counter-example, you came off as whiny and shallow. Where you could have elevated the discussion to new heights of clarity, you chose instead to descend to misandry and complaint. If you intend to contend against patriarchal influence in society, break out of your assigned role of subjugated domestic servant, and if you don't intend that, fix these guys a sandwich.

Humorous but juvenile. Another example of a side show act in the Tea Party, that is all too common.
