Bill Clinton: 'Wife might run for something'

(CNN) - Former President Bill Clinton joked he's trying not to make too many waves because his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, "might run for something."

"One of the sad things is, of course, since you don't have any power, nobody cares what you say - except if your wife might run for something you've got to avoid messing up too bad," Bill Clinton said Saturday in Michigan.

Hillary Clinton, a former first lady and senator from New York, is considered the overwhelming front-runner for the Democratic nomination, should she decide to throw her hat in the ring in 2016.

Bill Clinton, the 42nd president, former governor of Arkansas and a popular figure in the Democratic Party, has been hitting the campaign trail to support candidates as his party heads into a tough midterm election season, in hope of maintaining Democratic control of the U.S. Senate.

On Saturday he spoke to the Michigan Democratic Party's annual Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner in Detroit, where he rallied the audience to show up and vote this fall.

CNN: Key races to watch in 2014

Democratic Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan announced last year, at 78, that he would not seek re-election in 2014. Three-term U.S. Rep. Gary Peters is running to keep the seat in Democratic hands.

And while the GOP hasn’t won a U.S. Senate seat in Michigan in two decades, it hopes to break that streak come November with Republican Terri Lynn Land, Michigan’s former secretary of state.

If Clinton is the overwhelming front runner for anything, it's the truth.

While I recognize the perils of announcing her candidacy too soon, I don't think Hillary really can play coy much longer. If she's not going to run, other Democratic hopefuls have a lot of work to do to gain visibility and funding. If she is going to run, and the Democratic 2016 primaries and convention are just going to a formality, why not confirm what everyone expects and move to building a campaign organization?

But you have to admit that it would be hilarious if she didn't run. I mean you have all these right wing pac's collecting money to stop Hillary, and suddenly all these simps who gave money woke up and found they gave away their bucks for nothing. Do you think they would be refunded?

President Bill Clinton will be in very Big Trouble if he makes a premature announcement of Hillary's run for the White House.

Yes fifty year old jokes do grow tiresome. Why not give the rest of us a break and post something with some substance, even if it is ridiculous.

I think Hillary should run for Chief of the Sanitation Department as she is hardly qualified for any other office.

no one else has come out of the wood work as a potential.....so I think you can predict accurately that she'll run.
