Rep. Gowdy: CIA director Morell wasn't telling the truth about no political pressure in Benghazi hearing

(CNN) – Former acting Deputy Director of the CIA Michael Morell testified before the House Intelligence Committee last month, saying the Benghazi CIA station chief e-mailed three possibilities for what had motivated the 2012 attack: the anniversary of 9/11, revenge for the death of a senior al Qaeda leader in Pakistan, and an anti-Muslim video posted on YouTube.
Morell also denied any kind of cover-up or political influence behind the edits he made to those now-infamous talking points used by the White House.

Terrorists or extremists in that region of the world are the same thing according to the republican handbook. The President acknowledged this was a terrorists attack in the Rose Garden. Why are republicans holding hearings on things they already know the answer to? Oh, that's why! There's an election this year and this is their best way to smear HRC.
They Knew ! Who are They ?
Let's just end this now. This is completely political and designed to give the GOP the advantage by giving them the majority. And you can bet your bottom dollar that every republican is going to vote lockstep because if they don't they will be primaried or recalled. Nothing will satisfy these traitors unless Hillary and the POTUS say they themselves killed Ambassador Stephens. And that the two of them conspired to keep the truth from the American people and the terrorists that actually committed the murders.
This is what a witch hunt looks like. It reminds me so much of what I've read of the Salem witch trials....
The only people that are making this political are the GOP that have done absolutely nothing in 5 years to move this country forward. It's all about fear and smear.
It seems so politically motivated to keep this alive by the GOP that I don't think we the public will get anything but smoke and mirrors.

Most likely Morell is hoping the get out of Dodge with out ending up in Boot Hill.
This view of his along with the fundraising off the back of this? Everyone knows this is all politics, but the GOP seems intent on shouting it from the rooftops. Weird tactic as this makes it very easy for the Dems to bail and at that point, any findings will be as credible as Chris Christies self exoneration investigation.
I really hate that Gowdy is my rep.
I wasn't a fan of him as solicitor in spartanburg and he's worse as a congressman. I miss Bob Inglis. He actually rationally considered evidence and came to a conclusion. While I didn't always agree with him, I could respect that he at least used a reasonable approach in forming his opinions.
He's a self important, attention seeking little man and always has been. Unfortunately, in this area he's set for life in that seat unless someone even more insane primaries him.
Until we get an answer as to what Ambassador Stevens was doing in Benghazi, none of the rest matters. Granted, no one has asked the question, publicly, to anyone who might know. The answer would not suit the political agenda of the righties, and the Executive Branch has no reason to explain, apparently.
The Dems need to just come out and admit they screwed up with Benghazi. The more they spin, dodge, and hide the issue gets more and more attention.
Question: Did VP Dick Cheney pressure the Intelligence Community to say what he wanted to hear about WMDs, Iraq & connection to Bin Laden ? Which line of questioning is more important-to America;to Obama/Hillary Haters ?

As an American citizen, I am willing to listen to GOP charges that the administration ignored advanced evidence of a pending attack and took no preventive action . . . bu there is NONE.
I`m willing to listen to claims that Hillary Clinto gutted embassy security funding in order to spend the money elsewhere but the is ZERO evidence of that. [However THERE IS evidence that a GOP-ruled House of Representatives DeNIED/CUT State Department budgets when the Administration asked for MORE].
I`d be willing to have the Republicans explain how the Pentagon failed to get 2 MV-22s worth of marines to Benghazi to defend the embassy once it was under attack but the Pentagon wasnt derelict in taking action.
So the best the GOP has is their attempt to construe that Susan Rice was somehow politically influenced to explain the foundational motivations for the attack a particular way??
First, this is their opinion, they will NEVER be able to prove it. I`m sure a comprehensive Whitehouse did talk about multiple potential precipitating events for the attack. I can also envision that initially, no one precipitator could have been deemed anymore likely than the video. Now, even if the GOP could prove otherwise, it doesn`t rise to a level worthy of the House Oversight Committee and the MILLIONS of $$ that the GOP is wasting. There is no cover up and certainly not as it pretains to PRE-ATTACK.
Jobs-Bill please, we are not interested in Benghazi bs.
So, call up witnesses, ask them questions, then discredit the answers they give by saying "I don't believe them".
Well, that's certainly "getting to the bottom" of things.
Isn't it really funny how this guy ends up working for a group working to get Hillary Clinton elected after he leaves office?!! I would be looking into any quid pro quo arrangement here. This guy looks like he was covering for her and he got his reward with a high paying comfy position, which of course will turn into an even better one if Hillary gets elected (at our expense).
This relly smells to high heaven. And all the other people involved that were supposedly "punished", have all been given better positions elsewhere, most likely to buy their silence and continuance of this massive deception and cover up. There is a pattern here and I hope Gowdy pursues this. He is a great person to be leading this. No wonder the Democrats are sweating bullets.
One thing is for sure. If Obama says that the sun will come up every day, Republicans would ask why Obama does not talk about the real reason that the sun will come up every day. If Obama keeps saying that the sun will come up every day for two weeks, Republicans would say that Obama is covering up the real reason that the sun will come up every day. If someone at the White House sends an e-mail telling Democrats to go out and say that the sun will come up every day (because people like it when politicians tell them that the sun will come up every day), Republicans would completely miss the fact that Obama did not send the e-mail.
People, Obama never ruled out terrorism on Benghazi. He just did not say the word "terrorism" for two weeks. People associated the word "terrorism" with Al Qaeda, and we did not have definite proof that Al Qaeda was involved.
Finally a man that has backbone. Rep. Gowdy will as the right questions and not stop until they are answered. The American people want to know the truth and liberals continue to hold back the truth. Good luck to you Mr. Gowdy. You seem to be the only one who cares about these four brave men that gave their life for this country.
