(CNN) - Joining in an effort to eliminate pork-barrel spending, Sen. Ted Cruz welcomed a pig named Churchill to Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Joined by fellow Republican Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake, Cruz praised the group hosting the event, Citizens Against Government Waste, and said, "the culture of corruption that is rampant in Washington and sadly it is a bipartisan affair."

The Texas Republican then knelt down for a photo-op with Churchill, who was accompanied by his handler.
Someone in the audience joked, "the first time Sen. Cruz has had this picture taken with Churchill, maybe not the Churchill he was thinking of."

Best picture of Harry Reid I've seen on the Ticker!!
Correction: Hairy Reid
Comedians everywhere such send Cruz a gift basket. It is almost too easy.
Government waste you say? There's not an armed conflict Sen. McCain isn't ready to spend wrecklessly on. As far as the pig goes, send him here to Smithfield. We know exactly what do with him.

Please pass the BREAKING NEWS popcorn.
List o' pork:
Multi-billion-dollar subsidy for oil companies.
$24 billion government shutdown cost.
Endless Benghazi hearings.
Let's collect those, along with taxes owed by Americans hiding their money overseas, eh Ted?
Nancy Pelosi is looking like she needs a wax...
Obamacare would have been a more appropriate name for the pig... would just need to add more lipstick and you are there!
@Donna: "Obamacare would have been a more appropriate name for the pig... would just need to add more lipstick and you are there!"
Totally swine-inine comment. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has reported savings of $380 million so far this year.
Then there's folks like Julie Boonstra, the cancer patient featured in the false Koch brothers ad, who was told Obamacare was unaffordable and she's now actually saving at least $1,200 a year with her new insurance. And Obamacare is projected to cut the national deficit by over $200 billion during its first 10 years and over $1 trillion over the next two decades (CBO estimate).
Maybe, Donna, if you put enough lipstick on, you won't sound so much like an oinker in your posts. 🙂
You can buy a lot of pigs for $24 billion.
