First solo weekly address by first lady to focus on abducted girls
(CNN) - First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver Saturday's weekly address for Mother's Day weekend, the White House announced Friday.
The White House said her remarks will focus on the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria by an Islamist militant group and, more broadly, about education around the world.

"As the mother of two young daughters, Mrs. Obama is taking the opportunity to express outrage and heartbreak the President and she share over the kidnapping of more than 200 Nigerian girls from their school," White House spokesman Eric Schultz said.
"The First Lady hopes the courage of these young girls serve as an inspiration for every girl and every boy in our country to recommit themselves to their own education and a call to action for people around the world to fight to ensure that every girl receives the education that she deserves."
Earlier this week, the first lady tweeted a photo of herself with a sign that said: #BringBackOurGirls
Mrs. Obama has joined the President in the past in delivering the White House weekly address, but this will be her first time delivering it solo.

I'm sure our First Lady will come prepared for vicious attacks from the designated rightie, as that is all they can come up with.
Maybe a truce for the weekend could be worked out; no partisan attacks. Do it for Moms everywhere.
I hope Obama does not give in to this trap. There is a reason behind this group making this so public. Let the locals handle their own problems.

I have a lot of sympathy for all the victims and their families in this outrage. Forgive me, though, but I do not want the US to get heavily involved in a war in Africa. We can send supplies, provide drones for intel, maybe air power or some Green Beanies for training, but I do not want to see battalions of infantry on the ground.

Go Michelle. Even if you don't have children the kidnapping of these girls who wanted to be educated is a horrific act.
It would be nice if she were also outraged by the NSA spying on everyone, but apparently that doesn't matter to her.
Last time I checked Nigeria had a government. Nigeria needs to take care of this problem. The Nigerian government couldn't be that much more dysfunctional then the US's. Since we don't even like the children in this country, why would we want to take care of someone else's?
