Cowboys, political correctness, and a bizarre GOP debate

(CNN) - Conservative voters in Idaho were expecting a choice between the Republican establishment favorite and a Tea Party challenger.

Instead, they were treated to a master class in absurdity.

Wednesday's Idaho gubernatorial debate, broadcast by Idaho Public Television featured four candidates: incumbent Republican Gov. Butch Otter, state Sen. Russ Fulcher, Walt Bayes, and Harley Brown. The term "candidate" can best be applied very, very loosely to the latter two.

Bayes and Brown seemed the product of a casting call for The Onion than future political officer holder, both boasting beards befitting Civil War reenacters. Bayes, clad in a brown cowboy shirt that conjured images of bygone Boy Scout uniforms, alternatively touted having spent multiple stints in jail and vowing to shoot would-be aggressors.

The father of 16 proudly announced he had helped raise four "pro(fessional) rodeo cowboys."

For his part, Brown, donning full biker regalia, expressed his distaste political correctness.

"It sucks. It's bondage," Brown said.

When describing the choice Idaho voters face in the upcoming Republican primary, Brown put it this way:

"A cowboy, a curmudgeon, a biker, or a normal guy. Take your pick."

The republican tent is expanding to include reality challenged, the mentally challenged, and those still living in the 1880s.

    Comedy at its best!!

Do you see other nations exercise voting right more than USA? Voter reform needed here–not redistricting for suppress like NC. Watch out these thugs.

People be proud. This is what happens when you welcome hatred in your midst.

I must say thank you Mr. President! Your election and subsequent reelection brought them all out into the spotlight, and they are now exposed for the entire world to see their bass ackardness.

Today's GOP wouldn't have Lincoln or St. Ronnie anywhere near them.

"For his part, Brown, donning full biker regalia, expressed his distaste political correctness."

Rand Paul donning full baseball regalia or Harley Brown donning full biker regalia. Not impressive either way you look at it. Not to me anyway.

One in the same "look at me" egos vying for media attention.

aside from palin and the KKK Idaho has done nothing news worthy in years. And neither of those where good. Governor Andrus a democrat was the best governor we have had in many years, Now it is looney tunes and racist.PL DUI Otter is a big land owner who pays next to nothing in taxes, Claiming his land is farm land The average Idahoan is poorly educated and thinks fox is real news and all democrats are after their guns.
