(CNN) - In a response to comments by Sen. Rand Paul, former Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday he had no ties to Halliburton after he became vice president and during the Iraq War.
"I had no relationship at all with the company throughout the time that I was vice president. I didn't even talk to them," Cheney said on "Fox News Sunday."
"We kept totally at arm's length relationship," he continued. "So he obviously is not familiar with the facts."

Paul came under hot water with some Republicans after a 2009 video surfaced in which he made a speech suggesting that Cheney pushed for the Iraq War out of his own corporate interests with Halliburton, an oil field services company where he once served as CEO.
The Republican senator from Kentucky, who's thinking about running for president in 2016, tried to clarify the 2009 remarks in an interview last month. He said he wasn't trying to question Cheney's motives, nor does he "think Dick Cheney did it out of a malevolence."
"But what I would say is that it isn't - there's a danger to having a revolving door from government to Wall Street and also from government to contractor back to government," he said in an interview with ABC News' Jonathan Karl. "There is a danger that your decisions could be influenced. And I think we have to be careful of that."
HILARIOUS watching Guns Over People teatards walk the plank toward another November. They are desperate.
If Dick Cheney thinks we aren't aware that he made lots of money from the unnecessary wars he started - regardless of the "official" whitewash of the situation - then he is exhibiting the same contempt for the American people as when he was in office.
Oh hell the fact man speaketh. I repubs dont like fact its like cryptonite to them
Rand Paul has a point, about the revolving door........but, the VP has to do the same things as the President, when assuming office, and sever ties with corporations and place investments in blind trusts.
Dick Cheney: "Rand Paul is not familiar with the facts."
The rest of the country: "Rand Paul is not familiar with reality."
Mr. Cheney didn't have to talk to Halliburton to know that his war would profit the company beyond his wildest dreams. A neocon is a neocon is a neocon.
I can't believe all the libtards on here defending Neocon Dick Cheney. It must be because Obama and Cheney have so much in common.
Both wanted war with Syria last year
Both support our indefinite Afgan war
Both want Guantanamo open
Both support force feeding detainees on hunger strike
Both say it's OK to murder citizens abroad using drones without due process.
I could go on and on.
You should really study history and not trust government so much. Stop fearing the constitution. Open your minds a little and you will see the light.
Mr Cheney is in another league then Rand Paul .
Darth Vader Vs Aqua Buddha !
Rand Paul said that as a private citizen before being elected to the Senate. I bet many private citizens could draw that conclusion. I know I certainly did......
I see his mouth move but all I hear is blah blah blah blah
Whoever gave this guy his last heart................they want it back.
A company he owned got a contract, 52$ for a paper plate, cup, spork, sent to Afghanistan from New England, one of several .
It's obvious nintex is not connected to realty. Nothing to see here folks, move along now.
Mr war criminal who made a ton of money on his lie of a war.
That heart should have been giving to somebody worthy of being alive.
I take it he has been given his marching orders by the kochs to bury Paul?
Interesting that he didn't say his financial ties with them were severed. Just his social ones. Well, ok then!
A republican not familiar with the facts noooooooo say it ain't true
-yes, Laden sleeping in Pakistan happily, collecting money 30 billion yearly by Musharraf., know the facts?
I can understand why alot of Republicans, AND many Democrats, would like to hear Ronald Reagan speak from the grave...BUT....Dick Cheney speaking from the grave, is just plain creepy!....He is a bold-faced liar, and doesn't give a crap about the problems that most Americans are trying to deal with......With him...it's ALL about HIM!!!...RIP Dick!!!
"Stand Down" says big D. Cheney to the military during 9/11.
Norm Minetta knew the facts.
Cheney, along with other members of the Bush administration, [wolfowitz, rumsfeld, etc.] were authors of the "PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CENTURY] where they called for the "NEED FOR ANOTHER PEARL HARBOR" in order to further their agenda in the middle east, they're all war criminals
Are you going to tell me that it was just a coincidence that Halliburton got all those no bid contracts ?
Rand Paul tells the truth and Dick Cheney denies it – not real news but at least someone is finally saying it. I don't think I imagined most news networks showing the twin towers burning on one side of the screen and Saddam Hussein on the other when GWB was giving Saddam 48 hours to leave Iraq. Anyone who knows anything about that region konws that Iraq was not a fundamentalist theocracy but was a socialist dictatorship. In any case, those images were put on the screen on purpose to deceive the American public into believing it was Saddam who caused 911. How stupid.
Dick Cheney lies about the facts. HE is one evil man.
Dick Cheney knows the facts but you'll never get them from him. Chicken hawk coward content to send America's sons to do a duty he shirked when it was his time. One of the more revolting figures of my lifetime and there have been a slew of them.
It is amazing to hear Dick Cheney talk about someone "knowing the facts". He was part of an Administration that "sold" the Iraq war to the American people with tall tales about the Iraqis having little wooden planes that they could launch from fishing boats off the U.S. coast carrying destructive weapons ...and a biological weapons lab inside a van on the Iraqi highways....What he didn't say is that his Halliburton stock was possibly still owned by him in a blind trust and the no bid contracts made him a very, very great deal of money....
