Romney calls for NH police commissioner to apologize, resign for Obama slur
(CNN) - Mitt Romney is calling on a police commissioner to apologize and resign after using the N-word to describe President Obama
"The vile epithet used and confirmed by the commissioner has no place in our community: He should apologize and resign,” Romney said Sunday in a statement provided to CNN.

Robert Copeland, 82, is the police commissioner in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire - where Romney owns a home and spends a lot of time.
On Thursday evening Copeland refused to apologize at a town meeting for using the term.
The Boston Herald first reported Romney's statement.

Well...we all know he won't resign. Besides Mitt, I bet he voted for you.
As one commenter said previously, this guy is 82 and still at war with Japan. And can't figure out why blacks are allowed to sit at the same counter as him.

I agree. Admitting you said something and then saying you meant it doesn't mean you're absolved of being a racist. All it means is you took ownership of your stupidity.
The N WORD needs to be removed by ALL races. Considering Russian still call black people that WORD due to them only knowing BLACK people by that word and through rap music it is NEVER going realistically happen.
I obviously had to reason to have ever heard of this guy, nor to want to know who he was after I heard about this incident a couple of days ago. Now that I see him, without playing the video, I think we all just need to give up on him and let him die in peace and take his opinions with him. There is no fixing someone's prejudice at that age, and I am certainly not wanting to get an old man fired (racist or not). President Obama is stronger than a little slur.

Why should the man step down since it is the way all the people in the town feels about black people. He should stay as a symbol of the GOP. The GOP are what we knew them to be.
Romney is a good guy.... I like him... if he would have been democrat, he would have win presidency in 2008 and now.

Although as a Dem I'm politically opposite of Gov. Romney, I've always believed he's a decent man. He's proven it here.
The only fitting word that comes to mind when I see this guy face is "cracker" but I suspect that is about as racist as this creeps slur against Obama!
