Romney calls for NH police commissioner to apologize, resign for Obama slur
(CNN) - Mitt Romney is calling on a police commissioner to apologize and resign after using the N-word to describe President Obama
"The vile epithet used and confirmed by the commissioner has no place in our community: He should apologize and resign,” Romney said Sunday in a statement provided to CNN.

Robert Copeland, 82, is the police commissioner in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire - where Romney owns a home and spends a lot of time.
On Thursday evening Copeland refused to apologize at a town meeting for using the term.
The Boston Herald first reported Romney's statement.

Well done by Mitt! His father was a REALLY decent guy who fought for Civil Rights in the sixties.... no matter what you think of a man's politics there is no room for racism... there is no room for religous or family slander either... stick to the issues... stick to what mattters ... and for Heavens sake– LET'S TRY to to get together and work as a team...as AMERICANS ... together, one nation, one people.....

Here's a little free advice though... This time have an acceptance speech and a concession speech. And you might not want to listen to Karl Rove this time. He doesn't seem too intelligent.... He made you look like an even bigger fool than you are last time.
Look, say what you want about any President's policies if you don't like them, but there's no place for that word in our society. Period.
While I agree that he should resign, why apologize? Let's face it; the world is FULL of apologies issued solely because the individual was caught. I was taught that an apology only means something when you are truly remorseful, and when you won't repeat the injurious behavior. Let's face it, neither Donald Serling nor Robert Copeland have any regret other than being confronted for abhorrent behavior. You can't change an old racist, no matter how "sorry" they claim to be.

Not a fan of Romney's but I respect and agree with his thoughts on this issue. Some things are just wrong, and age doesn't justify wrongdoing. This nasty old racist is content with himself, knows what he said was wrong, and is too stubborn and proud to voluntarily leave his job. So he should be removed. Period.
I'm starting to see a pattern here. 82 year old Police Chief, 81 (?) year old Sterling. Brings back memories of the hippie saying: "don't trust anyone over 30."

While I agree with Mr. Romney I would have to wonder why Mr. Romney is becoming so public and trying to sound so reasonable unless he is gearing up for another run for President. Perhaps he has realized that our next President will be Republican (why not, the Democrats failed to deliver?) and he is the only serious (?) candidate. The Democrats are rallying around Hillary Clinton who doesn't stand a chance in Hell. I myself would vote for Romney over Clinton. It will come down to whichever candidate is hated the least. Just a figurehead position anyway given that banks and military contractors run the real government.

The man has been like this all his life, it what his parents has taught. On the other hand my black parents taught me,
"Stick and Stones may break my bones; but words will never hurt me. Move on America. I think he shoud resign because of his age not his mouth,like the old forts sitting on capital today.
