(CNN) - Former President George W. Bush is back at home in Dallas, following partial knee replacement surgery Saturday in Chicago.
Bush spokesman Freddy Ford told CNN that the former president "had a successful partial knee replacement Saturday and came back to Dallas Monday."

Ford added that it was not a new injury and that Bush was "up walking around and even went up and down a flight of stairs just a couple hours after the procedure."
Bush, 67, remains active and regularly rides his bike. Earlier this month he led a physically demanding bike ride at his ranch near Crawford, Texas, to honor military members wounded in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Last August, the former president had a stent placed in his heart after a blockage was discovered in an artery.

My father in law had both of his knees done at the same time. Afterward he commented to the doctor about how painful the procedure was. The doctor replied that's why he did both at the same time – patients are reluctant to return for the second knee if he only does one at a time!
Get well soon, sir.
-nonetheless I never liked your policies, that made a huge destruction fiscally, just get well soon, sir.
It's a shame he's able to walk.
I pray for this man's speedy recovery and that medical science one day perfects brain replacement seeing how he'd be a perfect candidate for that procedure as well.
For those who just don't seem to get it, this man could care less for you. If there was justice in this world, he and a few of his cronies would be jailed for war crimes and mass murder of our own citizens. But now he garners pity for a knee replacement. Well boo hoo.
@Kool Aid-We gonna charge the current potus, Clinton, or Bush Sr. with war crimes as well?
Looking at the majority of comment, it proves that pigs can type. Get well soon PRESIDENT Bush.
@Dead Bear
Agree. You took the words right out of my mouth.
This was done in Chicago! Well, well, republicans can't talk again of repealing Obamacare. Nevertheless, have a quick recovery Mr. former President.
Mr. President: Had the knee replacement two years ago-God bless you and if you think obama is a pain wait until you wake up from surgery. Played 4 sports/vet/all kinds of "st uff" but not hing like after the surgery. Will pray for you-God bless you and y our family.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Mr. President. I have osteoarthritis in both knees so I know the agony involved.
I bet he didn't wait for years on a list to get this done. All us poor saps that went to for this criminal are still waiting for their knee surgeries, medicine, benefits, etc... Let's post more articles about that and less about how well off this turd is- he should be in the Hague.

Ah, the unending compassion of lefties. Glad SOME of us, at least, have the intellectual and social maturity to wish other human beings well personally, even if we disagree (even dramatically) on policy issues. Get better soon, Mr. President.
Now that they have been CRUSHED by Turtle McConnell, can't wait to see Thom Tillis,Sheldon Adelson,Rupert Mourdoch,Rove,Grover Norquist and the GOP stuff Jeb Bush down the tea potty's throats EXACTLY like they stuffed Romney down.
What is the state of medicine in Texas that Bush had to fly to and from Obama's home town to have a common orthopedic procedure? Why not go to a VA hospital like the ones we're reading about?
He injured his knee running away from Cindy Sheehan.
Funny, they didn't care to mention his penal implant.
Very sad that those who don't believe in Bush's politics also criticize the man. Shame on you. As far as I am concerned if when you criticize any former president you are criticizing the office of the presidency. Shame on you.
DIdn't like him as a president, but he served and he did the best he knew how to do. Presidents and ex-presidents should always be respected, at least in my opinion.
@Smith
I don't know. Do we have evidence that those former presidents also ordered the torture of U.S. citizens?
Is this really news? Who cares.
it is only fitting that a man who causd so many deaths and amputations gets the medicl attention he needs.
Too many years spent on his knees giving BigOil and BigPharma what they asked for.
Almost destroyed our government with his spending and deficits and tax breaks for the multi-nationals.
