Washington (CNN) – Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will take part in a live town hall meeting that will be moderated by CNN's Christiane Amanpour later this month.
The June 17 event will take place at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. and it will be the only network televised town hall that the former secretary of state participates in during the closely watched rollout of her new memoir, "Hard Choices."

In addition to Amanpour's questions, Clinton will "take questions from the American public with nothing off limits," according to a CNN statement announcing the event. The town hall will air on CNN at 5 p.m. ET and be simulcast on CNN International and CNN en Español. It will re-air on CNN at 9 p.m. ET.
CNN and Tumblr have teamed up for the first time to invite viewers worldwide to submit questions – in any form (text, video, animated gif) – via CNN’s event Tumblr, and Amanpour will pose some of the best to Clinton during CNN’s live broadcast.
Amanpour is CNN's chief international correspondent and anchor of "Amanpour," a nightly foreign affairs program on CNN International.
"Hard Choices" is Clinton's second memoir and tells the story of the former first lady's four years as America's top diplomat. It goes on sale June 10.
Clinton is widely seen as the frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016, and the former senator has acknowledged a number of times that she is weighing a second run for the White House.
Details of the book tour have slowly trickled out over the last two weeks, including announcements of other media interviews, excerpts from the memoir, and events across the United States and Canada.
On Monday, Barnes & Noble announced that the first event of Clinton's book tour will be a reading at its Union Square location in Manhattan on the day the memoir hits bookshelves. Clinton will sign copies of her new book at the event.
The bookseller also announced Monday that Clinton will appear at a similar book signing on June 19 in Los Angeles.
In addition to those two events, Clinton will appear at events in Austin, Texas; Arlington, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; Chicago and San Francisco.
Clinton will speak at two events in Canada: One at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto on June 16 and then two days later – on June 18 – Clinton will speak at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.
What's behind stepped up GOP attacks on Clinton
Half in new poll disapprove of how Clinton handled Benghazi
The book is an important moment for Clinton as she weighs a presidential run. Critics have faulted Clinton's leadership at State – particularly her management of the 2012 attack on the American compound in Benghazi. Her supporters see the memoir as the best way for Clinton to rebut those claims.
Bill from GA
Larry of Massachuisetts – " My question – What specific steps would Hillary take as President to close the partisan divide in DC? "
The only thing a democrat could do these days to close the partisan divide would be total capitulation. Republicans have made it obvious that their only goal is to regain power. They have no interest in making this country function for the betterment of the people.
---------------------------------
Correct, they have no interest in making this country function for the better of The People. They are only interested making this country work for Their People, their puppet masters. The political parties in this country have been replaced by financial parties. That British paper is correct. America is now a plutocracy.
Lol....It's funny to watch the libt ards try and defend the most corrupt government EVER!!!! BIllary for president? Lol....now that's funny. We already gave a blk community clown the POTUS. There are so many scandals going on with Obama and Hillary I don't even think I can list them all here. The socialist experiment is over.
I would ask why she looked the parents of,the four dead Americans in the eyes and LIED about the video being the cause of the attack when she KNEW that wasn't true. I would also ask what happened to the guns she and the late Ambassador Stevens were sending to our so-called friends in Libya that wound up in enemy hands.
