Programming note: CNN will air "41ON41," a film about President George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States, based on interviews with 41 people who know him best, Sunday at 9 and 11 p.m. ET
(CNN) - Former President George H.W. Bush Thursday celebrated his 90th birthday by skydiving near his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine.
After what appeared to be a hard landing, Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told CNN that after the morning jump, the former president "is doing great."

Bush jumped in tandem with Mike Elliott, the same man he has jumped with several times before. Bush had previously parachuted seven times – once when he was shot down as a Navy pilot during World War II and the other six voluntary, including jumps to celebrate his 75th, 80th and 85th birthdays.
"He loves the adrenaline. He loves the jolt. He loves the thrill," McGrath added.
"It's a wonderful day in Maine - in fact, nice enough for a parachute jump," the former president tweeted Thursday morning, in announcing he was going to jump.
Former First Lady Barbara Bush was "fully on board," McGrath said.
At 90, Bush 41 enjoys 'life to the fullest'
Despite suffering from a form of Parkinson's disease that restricts him to a wheelchair, Bush was committed to jump. He had pledged five years ago to do a jump on his 90th birthday.
This was news worthy?
It's funny how everybody seems to be spreading dis and misinformation about GHWB.
Go Father W I Luv it... For this very reason, I like father W than his Son W...
"This was news worthy?"
Well, it's not every day that elderly people fall out of the sky.
I guess it's a bigger thrill than Barbara can give him nowadays.
He didnt help the Kurds when he said he would though. It turned into a slaughter too.
Good for him.
He loves adrenaline?? How about going to the frontlines with his son
Bush 41 was one of THE most genuine gentlemen to ever sit in the Oval Office. He is a man of great integrity who was neither a conservative nor liberal. He can jump on his 90th and be proud of all of his life accomplishments. Best wishes for a Happy 90th, Mr. President. I wish that we had more former Presidents like you around.

More news worthy than the rest of the drivel from CNN:
Kim Jong Un: Get weather forecast right
Clinton makes Honest Abe mistake
Netflix to air 'Magic School Bus' reboot
Man catches rare yellow lobster
Horse hits cab near Central Park
Mila Kunis: Men, you're not pregnant
Look at me! 31 selfies of the week
MLB team to fans: Don't do wave
Celebs who keep their shades on
Is Miss Indiana's body really 'normal'?
'Wheel of Fortune's' epic fails
and so on, and so on...At least a former president turning 90 has SOME news value...

Amazing – the hatred and vitriol in the "tolerant left."

Yes agreed, these are some evil discusting people who claim they are progressive.....well judging by their actions and words, they certainly are not, they are just trash!
This was probably Bab's idea.
Good for him. Happy Birthday!
I hope he has a great time, although it is beyond me why anyone would want to
jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
Bab's idea
The fact that the man is 90 and can jump period is a good thing!
I hope he had his heart replaced.
This is a truly gutsy man. Good luck to him. However, some people are looking through rose coloured glasses when they look at his presidency. His involvement with the Persian Gulf war was a catalyst for more hatred and unrest in that part of the world that has festered ever since. His son invaded Iraq partly because he thought Sadam Hussain had tried to "kill his Daddy". History is being rewritten constantly about the presidencies of Reagan, Bush Sr. and now Bush Jr. Everyone around the world knows the truth though and they haven't forgotten at all..
I hope he has made all of his final arrangements. It may be more than he can bear
If 41 hadn't pardoned those who could have testified against Reagan, he would have a bit more of my respect. Bush's aid in the cover-up of the Iran-Contra Affair makes him as guilty as Reagan.
It think it would be nice if Bush I and Bush II jumped together.
good to know the bush family is living it up, and having fun, while Iraq is turning into a blood bath
Gotta give President Bush a LOT of credit on doing this!
At 90 years old he STILL has the mentality and energy to enjoy life!
Have FUN Mr. President!!
Maybe he'll take his sons with him and decide they like it so much they'll stay out of politics and stop messing up America.
Good for him! Enjoy your birthday!

You can thanks Obama for that, he pulled troops out. After all the troops accomplished, Obama throws it away.
