Obama to take executive action on immigration

(CNN) - President Barack Obama said Monday he was starting "a new effort to fix as much of our immigration system as I can on my own, without Congress," adding that he directed his team to recommend steps he can take this summer and that he would then act on those steps "without delay."

Here's an idea: Force Mexico to stop the trafficking through their country. It may be as simple as reducing the personnel at the border crossings, to bring all traffic to a halt. Or inspect (slowly) all goods coming from Mexico. Whatever. Slow all trade with Mexico.

Nothing in the article mentions what Obama intends to do, but any weakness toward illegal immigration will only encourage more. That is why we are facing the problems we now have. Neither party, dems or repubs, have moved to solve this issue, over the past 20 or 30 years.

I hear thar the most corrupt president in history and his regime have declared this the "summer of executive actions" I can only hope that it is as successful as the summer of prosperity they declared in 2010.

@Sniffit-GWB carried the hispanic vote and didn`t do a darn thing about the border. So your racist talking points are fodder. In fact Obama has been more strict on the border. Does he hate those people?

A very good point brought up by smith. Does Obama hate all those people because of their "brown skin"? Based on your logic, there can be no other explanation.

it must be said – " The disaster we now have WAS CAUSED BY OBAMA! "

" The disaster we now have goes back at least as far as Reagan, who chose to offer citizenship to anyone in the country. When such a precedent is set, what do you expect except for more and more to come?

The problem now is that dems and repubs both refuse to deal with the situation, letting our country be overrun by anyone who can get here.

I like the alternating comments that Obama either:
    – can do nothing
    – is a dictator controlling everything
The radical right should get their rant theories straight.
