Fewer wins this time, but tea party has changed the GOP

Washington (CNN) - Call it a brief intermission: There's a three-week break in the action after a slew of primaries in May and June and a couple big headlines.

The major story line so far this election cycle is the ongoing battle that pits mainstream Republicans against tea party groups and anti-establishment organizations.

Why do voters continue to believe Republicans when they accuse Democrats of being the party of big spending and big government, when the facts demonstrate the exact opposite. The largest growths in spending and government since World War II has occurred under Republican administrations in the White House. The facts don't lie, but Republicans do.

Got that lying machine on overdrive this morning! Every person that graduated 7th grade knows it is Congress that determines the spending, not who is in the White House. The facts don't lie, you do, but that is nothing new in here.

Yes, I wasn't even in the 7th grade nor anywhere near it when I learned a President has veto power... So, yes Tony D... the lying machine IS in overdrive... or the uneducated, faux news talking point machine which has made you the pillar of civics knowledge we see today.
The cost of getting your educashun from hannity and oreally....

The GOP traditional candidates no longer represent the people. They are NOT conservative, and they do believe in smaller, more efficient government. The Tea Party fills that void, with truly conservative candidates, who want government to operate better.

BTW, do you folks EVER listen to what you say. You answered your own question. The sequester cut spending.
"...so exactly when have democrats ever, ever, cut federal government spending? the sequester (obama's idea) ..."

then why did the democrats and obama lie to the nation and say it was the republicans that were cutting with the sequester?
They didn't. It was the Republicans, specifically the Tea Party Republicans, that wanted the mandatory cuts. Pres. Obama and Spkr. Boehner had worked out another one of their grand bargains, and the Tea Party rejected it. Most of the Tea Party members were angry that the cuts were not deeper, that we didn't eliminate two or three major departments: i.e.: Energy, Labor, Education, etc.

@Lynda/Minnesota...You're right that arguing would be useless. I don't see it as Anti-Obama rhetoric rather Anti-Obama ideology......not the man but his policies. As for Dick Cheney intimidation......all I can say....ask Collin Powell if he was intimidated?

Yes, I wasn't even in the 7th grade nor anywhere near it when I learned a President has veto power...

So lefty Democrats are now advocating for Presidents to veto budgets and shut down the government! Why hasn't Obama done this to force all of the budget cuts he wants? I do not believe he has vetoed a single bill because Harry Reid blocks everything in the Senate.

So I eagerly await the Democrats balanced budget plans and Obama refusing to sign a budget that is not balanced. They would get my full support and vote if they did this. But I will NOT be holding my breath.
