Monica Lewinsky: ‘I was a virgin to humiliation of that level’

(CNN) - After a self-imposed exile from the public eye, former White House intern Monica Lewinsky appeared on Tuesday in her first interview in a decade.

In a National Geographic documentary on the 1990s, Lewinsky, “the most humiliated woman in the world,” described the public shaming as former President Bill Clinton’s mistress as “alarming … frightening … confusing … and excruciating.”

“I was a virgin to humiliation of that level,” Lewinsky said in the documentary that was previewed on NBC's “Today Show.”

She described the day special prosecutor Kenneth Starr released his nearly 500-page report on Clinton as “one of the worst days of my life.”

Lewinsky’s interview is another step in her re-emergence and attempt to write her own narrative after humiliation by critics, comedy writers, paparazzi and the Clintons. In recently found documents from the Clinton White House, then-first lady Hillary Clinton described her as a “narcissistic looney toon.”

Lewinsky’s gradual re-entrance into the public eye was launched in May with a Vanity Fair biographic essay where she wrote, “It’s time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress. And move forward.”

In political extramarital affairs, the mistress rarely emerges unscathed

She wrote that she could no longer put her life on hold for another decade as Hillary Clinton contemplates a presidential bid.

“I turned 40 last year, and it is time to stop tiptoeing around my past—and other people’s futures,” she wrote.

In addition to her media appearances, her social life is becoming more public as well. She was also seen at a high-profile event in London on Monday evening, according to the Daily Mail.

Hillary Clinton mostly dismisses questions about Lewinsky. During a media rollout of her new book, “Hard Choices,” where she was asked about Lewinsky, Hillary Clinton said she had “moved on” and would “wish her well.”

What a piece of work. Wonder how much the republicans paid her to come out now. They really have nothing else, so I guess this is another last stitch effort to discredit the Clintons.

Ms Lewinsky was prayed upon by a predator, the Media was culpable in attacking her and the Left – particularly the so-called "Feminists" – were vitriolic in their attacks. Talk about a "War on Women"...that's what was done to Ms Lewinsky.

Democrats don't need to reach back into the 1990s and 1970s to find evidence of the Republican War on Women. It's in the here and now, it's here today, in the present day. From "binders full of women", to holding aspirin between the knees, to state legislatures passing laws that would require a woman to keep a baby that was the result of incest or rape.

The Republican War on Women is currently being waged in every state with a Republican legislature and governor.

Oh yeah, Lewinsky was preyed upon. Are you freaking kidding me? She committed adultery with a married man who was also president. She almost certainly had to know that that would get leaked to the press (why else would she have kept that blue dress with the famous stains) and she would be exposed for the hobag that she is and now she wants to whine about it? Get a grip! I am in no way condoning President Clinton's actions, the whole thing was disgusting but really, for Monica to try and portray herself as some sort of victim is just absurd.

The fact that she saved that dress speaks volumes about her intent. I wonder where the DNA went the other times. I have a real dislike for sneaky people with unclean motives – Clinton’s motives were pure, what he wanted was what he had presented – she on the other hand presented a ruse. I don’t feel sorry for her in the least – I feel her actions actually caused great harm to this country because we might have dodged the GW bullet.

Lewinski was also a virgin to receiving absurd fame and fortune as a result of doing nothing of significance whatsoever.

Those in power should never take advantage of those who have less power and are vulerable.

Perhpas this was what Jesus meant, when he said: "It would be better to have a mill stone tied around one's neck and for them to be thrown into the sea, than for them to cause one of these little children (or little ones) to stumble".

Of course Jesus also warned that we should "beware of wolves in sheep's clothing".

If she doesn't want to be humiliated she should have kept her head out of the President's lap.

Ms. Lewinsky's "virgin mind" spawned the comment "I'm going to Washington to get on my knees," as I recall. THAT is NOT the thought of a naïve youth.

She was not preyed upon by anyone, she snapped her thong at the POTUS, they were both wrong and she needs to go back under the rock she came from. He is a weezened old fool who is playing on his wife's popularity.

No 'innocent' saves a dress with semen stains on it. This is political timing, and she is a money grubbing dork that is being pulled to the spotlight again. No one put a gun to her head and said suck it, girly. She did things she wanted to do, she brought it to the public eye and she DESERVES to be shamed.

It is time to give he a break. People make mistakes. Everybody has skeletons in the closet. I had a short fling with a married man 30 years ago that left me feeling totally used, humiliated and disgusted with myself. Difference is, I was the only one disgusted with myself. I got over it and I don't even think of it anymore. It has not affected my career or personal life in any way.
This girl had the bad luck of doing the same with a famous guy who turned out to be a liar and tried to save his own hide at her expense.

Women need to wise up. Unless you do, you will always be duped into thinking there is a war against you.

First and foremost let's look at this entire episode as objectively as possible.. .. She is a 19 yr old who was lost in her own ideas of fame and fortune.. Yes, she decided to keep the dress but made no effort to call "Rape" at the time of the events and gladly enacted events like a heroine in a porn movie... Who is to blame ? She or the Society who wanted details ?

I am no fan of HRC, but this woman needs to fade away. Are we supposed to believe that she knew nothing of the scrutiny and embarrassment that her tryst with a married man, a public official, was going to bring on her? Did she fancy herself a Marilyn Monroe? She was a nobody then and she is still a nobody now.
