Obama to Republicans: 'So sue me'

(CNN) - President Barack Obama dared Republicans to follow through on their threats to bring a lawsuit against his administration over his use of executive action.

"Middle-class families can’t wait for Republicans in Congress to do stuff. So sue me," Obama said Tuesday at an event in Washington.

"As long as they’re doing nothing, I’m not going to apologize for trying to do something."

Obama’s defiant attitude comes as House Speaker John Boehner, a Republican from Ohio, plans to propose legislation that could bring a lawsuit against him for implementing executive actions that the GOP contends amounts to a breach of his constitutional power by side-stepping the legislative process.

Obama: Boehner's lawsuit is 'a stunt'

Recently, Obama has ramped up his use of executive authority as a way to bypass a deeply divided Congress, avoiding inaction on issues the White House has made hallmarks of the President's second term agenda.

On Monday, Obama said he would start "a new effort to fix as much of our immigration system as I can on my own, without Congress."

Poll: Can Obama get the job done?

At Tuesday's event, Obama continued to harp on congressional Republicans to pass legislation - this time pushing them to invest in transportation.

Standing in front of Key Bridge, which connects the city's Georgetown-area to Virginia, Obama continued his stepped-up rhetoric hammering Republican for obstructing action in Washington.

A fundraising first for Obama

Obama proposed a long-term highway construction bill earlier this year that he says would spur job growth.

"It’s not crazy, it’s not socialism," Obama said of his transportation proposal. "It’s not the imperial presidency - no laws are broken. We’re just building roads and bridges like we’ve been doing for the last, I don’t know, 50, 100 years. But so far, House Republicans have refused to act on this idea."

CNN's Mike Ahlers and Rene Marsh contributed to this report.

Obama says once again that he will use exec orders to bypass Congress – and that what he is doing is not socialism or an imperial presidency. Our idiot president just doesn't get it – it's not WHAT he is trying to do...it is that he is BREAKING THE LAW by circumventing Congress to makes and alter laws. And it IS socialism.. all of his signature programs are socialistic in nature and structure. Just another lie for the adoring masses to swallow – and distraction from the many scandals.

No it's "My way or the highway" Presidential decrees based on Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers; as if he were living inside the Politburo and we were his faceless and voteless masses.

    Mr. President,

It is the Supreme Court, not YOU, that is the final arbiter on when you've surpassed your legal authority as a co-equal branch of government. And the court over the last several days has repeatedly indicated that you are doing just that- in some cases even in 9-0 decisions.

The fundamental transformation of America continues apace. Unfortunately, it is transformation in a form that about 50% of the country disagrees with.

    How long it may happen?!
Instead of working as president of United States to help people, Obama just talk and dive into routine war between Democrats and Republicans. Great boast, small roast.

Obama is going to grab his magic pen and sign an executive order in an attempt to fix another social injustice. Oh great bundles of joy. Do we not already have laws which if enforced would resolve these issues? Haven't we thrown enough money out the window while the keeping the door open to anyone, good or bad, from entering our borders illegally? Another ineffective Obama policy, implemented for the wrong reasons, costing taxpayers more money we don’t have, all the while pointing the finger at the Bad Republicans. How disgraceful.

The reason republicans can't do a anything is because every time they do Harry Reid blocks it in the senate. Over 200 bills have been passed by the Republican congress and all have died in the Democrat senate. You might not agree with Republican ' s politics or with the bills they past. However, to keep calling them a "no can do congress" just because they won't pass bills Obama wants is an outright lie.

This man is such a lair. He is up to his neck in things like the IRS, EPA, the VA his failure with immigration and his blame for that mess and the list goes on and on etc. And as usual he pivots back to the economy. All along, he is only hoping it will divert people attention from all the garbage his Dictatorship. Obama should be impeached.

As long Harry Reid blocks the votes. it will look like congress is doing nothing. That is the Obama scam. Google the bills waiting and see if Greedy Reid not blocking them.
