Cruz: Let's repeal ‘every bloody word' of Obamacare

Washington (CNN) – Sen. Ted Cruz on Tuesday forcefully argued that Obamacare is not here to stay and pledged that he would continue working to dismantle the health care law in 2014 and 2016.

“I think those elections should be about many, many things,” the Texas Republican said, listing jobs and growth as examples. “But they should be about repealing every bloody word of Obamacare.”

His remarks came in an address at a Washington conference hosted by the conservative group, Young America's Foundation.

Cruz was a key player in last year’s fight against the law and pushed his colleagues in Congress to try to defund Obamacare ahead of a looming spending deadline. The debate between Republicans and Democrats on the issue eventually resulted in a 16-day government shutdown.

Obamacare continued to roll out on January 1 of this year, despite some major hiccups with its website and some of its key provisions being delayed.

Cruz, who’s considering a presidential campaign, said the opposition he helped lead last year set in motion an effort that will eventually bring the law down.

“Some battles you can win with one clean rifle shot; other battles take time, take building that foundation,” he said. “I’m convinced that fight has laid the foundation.”

A CNN/ORC International Poll released last week indicated that more than half the public believes Obamacare has helped either their families or others across the country, although less than one in five Americans say they have personally benefited from the Affordable Care Act.

Cruz stressed that he’s “working very, very hard to win Senate seats and retire Harry Reid.”

He told the audience that it’s also up to the public to express their discontent with the law.

“If we’re going to repeal Obamacare and I’m convinced we’re going to…it’s going to come from the people saying ‘this thing isn’t working’,” he said.

Eh indeed! Canada doesn't want him! He is a dumbbell with a big loud mouth, and he looks frighteningly like a big dumb loudmouth named joe McCarthy. Too bad these dumb loudmouths get other dumbbells to listen to their insane ranting.

Disturbing how CNN has become the Pied Piper of the left wing. You can see from all these one sided comments.

Funny how rich people with better health insurance than most people in this country are so quick to sacrifice someone elses' insurance coverage.

And this guy wants to be President? 4 years of disassembly, taking apart what else? Cause he surer isn't proposing anything positive, constructive or even rational. As as Canadian I can say that the best party on his tenuous connection to us is, "Thank gawd and Greyhound, yer gawn!"

We can only hope Cruz runs for the GOP as president. It'll make for another decisive loss for the GOP.

"less than one in five Americans say they have personally benefited from the Affordable Care Act."
That pretty much sums it up. Once again, democrats stealing from the middle class and giving to the poor, thus making everyone equally poor. But that's what drives the left-wing vote: populist catchphrases like "1%ers" and "income inequality". They have no clue how the economy works. With them, it's spend, spend, spend, and "let's be more like Europe", as if many European countries aren't in a self-imposed economic mess (see: Greece).

It will be a glorious day when the republicans finally take back the Senate and send obstructionist Harry Reid packing, just like they did with Nancy Pelosi!

    1) It's working! So Sen Cruz is wrong.
    2) Senator Cruz just said he is against mandating that insurance companies cannot deny you coverage because of pre-existing conditions
    3) And that lifetime maximums for insurance are good
    4) And that it is perfectly okay for people who do not want to pay for insurance to use our facilities just like everyone else who does, therefore making sure our premiums go up.

I'm all for not paying Sen Cruz a salary, and I'm pretty sure I can get more people to agree with that than he can for repealing Obamacare.

Ted Cruz is an idiot. A dangerous idiot. He and Sarah Palin were made for eachother. Both are prime examples of right-wing, extremist nutjobs. I bet they both watch "Ancient Aliens" and agree with every point being made on that show. What a pair of wackos.

Ted Cruz has been vindicated by the failure of ObamaCare. He is a hero of the middle class working American who has been kicked to the curb by the Obama Administration.

Health care should only be provided to people who can afford it. If you can't afford it that's just too bad. The government shouldn't have to guarantee health care for everyone. It is more important they guarantee your right to buy an AK47.

Why should we repeal it? Make an argument, Ted. Doing something without sound reasons is foolish.

So which words of the law are "bloody?" Too bad we can't "repeal" every stupid politician, though that description is redundant.
