Obama lambasts Republicans for ‘hatin’ all the time’

Updated 1:31 p.m. ET, 7/30/2014

Kansas City, Missouri (CNN) – Days before Congress' summer break begins, President Barack Obama used a Wednesday morning speech here to lambast Republicans who are preparing to sue him rather than take action on some of his agenda items.

“Stop being mad all the time,” Obama chided Republicans during rowdy, campaign-style remarks. “Stop just hatin’ all the time.”

Democrats think they've struck fundraising gold with the Republican threat of a lawsuit against the White House, as well as the specter of impeachment some members of the party have raised. Since Friday, Democratic electoral committees sent more than a dozen e-mails using the issues to stir their supporters into donating money.

Top House Democrat: 'you bet we're going to run' on lawsuit and impeachment

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, tasked with electing Democrats to the House, said they'd raised more than a million dollars in online donations using the tactic.

House Speaker John Boehner announced plans earlier this summer to file suit against Obama for circumventing Congress on changes to his health care law, which some Republicans said was unconstitutional.

Obama has slammed the move as a political stunt, egging Republicans on with the quip "so sue me" during a speech in early July.

“They’re mad because I’m doing my job,” Obama said on Wednesday, calling on lawmakers to instead take action on closing tax loopholes and pass new laws he said will spur job creation.

“We can do so much more if Congress would just come on and help out a little bit,” he said. “Just come on. Come on and help out a little bit.”

Separately, some Republicans have suggested Obama could be impeached for exceeding his authority as president, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and others in the conservative wing of the GOP.

Boehner wrote off any talk of impeachment as a Democratic fundraising ploy on Tuesday.

"They're trying to rally their people to give money and to show up in this year's elections," he said.

The White House was quick to cite a list of Republicans who have floated impeaching Obama, saying Boehner's description of the idea as simply a Democratic talking point ignored the statements of some of his members.

"If that's the case, then I suspect that there may be members of the Republican conference that didn't receive the memo," Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.

During his remarks on Wednesday at a historic theater, Obama cast the Republican lawsuit as a distraction from the real work he wants Congress to be doing, including closing a legal loophole that allows big corporations to incorporate overseas to avoid paying U.S. taxes.

Obama cast such tactics as unpatriotic.

“They've always been American companies. They took advantage of all the benefits of being an American company but now their accountant has convinced them maybe they can get out of paying some taxes,” he said.

“It ain't right. Not only is it not right, it ain't right.”

While he was in Missouri Obama met with four people who'd written him letters detailing their struggles and successes in the uncertain economy. The President met the Kansas Citians over ribs and pulled pork at Arthur Bryant's restaurant, which has served the city’s signature barbecue to former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Its vinegar-based sauce is labeled "The President's Choice."

Obama hopes to highlight the issues facing the middle class by scheduling meetings with Americans who have written him. This summer he's shared meals with people in Minnesota, Colorado, Texas and elsewhere.

At Arthur Bryant's on Tuesday, Obama ordered a half slab of ribs and a Bud Light, though when he asked for cole slaw the restaurant's staff told him they had run out.

"You didn't save me some?" he joked.

What a clown. He breaks the laws and goes around Congress and gets a predictable result and then has the gall to cry like a baby. There is little doubt why Obama will go down as one of the worst presidents ever.

    Obama's agenda:
    – Blatantly ignore and not enforce US immigration laws
    – Spend $ millions to house, feed, and dump illegal immigrants in unsuspecting cities throughout the country
    – Demand $4 billion on Illegal Immigrant assistance programs when none of them will show up for their court hearing dates
    – Reward millions of Illegal Immigrants work visas after they have been breaking the laws for years
    Why support that?!

Obama did not even go to the Texas border to see the mess he had made. He would rather fundraise.

Let's call it like it is. The Republican agenda failed, they have no new ideas and are struggling to redefine themselves in a world that has passed most of them by. So they only option they have open to them is to attack, attack, attack. I know for example that this post will be questioned. I'll be called everything under the sun...I'm okay with that.

Why? Because the Republican party and corporate greed has destroyed this country and they know it. Yet, because they can not admit to a failed philosophy they will question my sexuality, my race, my parentage and my patriotism. Hate and disorder are all they have left.

Those poor delusional repubs. They were the goofy kid in your grade school class who never fit it, never understood the concept of how to be cool, and we always had to work around them in order to accomplish anything. Somehow they graduated but no one knows how, and here they are 40-60 years later still being ignorant and getting in the way.

Mr. Boehner knows the threat of suing and impeachment of the president is a political stunt to satisfy the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party. The Republicans are attempting to gin up their base for the upcoming midterm elections. Unfortunately it appears that this stunt may have backfired.

"Obama to blast GOP over lawsuit"

Will he continue with his middle school rants and say, "I double dog dare you"?

Or will he try to be Presidential this time?

I am not saying that impeaching Obama is the right thing to do, but it should definitely be a possibility. This is a man whose government has consistently lied (you can keep your healthcare plan, Benghazi was spontaneous, etc). This is also a man who leads an administration whose incompetence has led to the deaths of many Americans, including a US ambassador. Benghazi could have been prevented, as we had intel about the threat, if we had simply sent a beefed up Marine Corps security team. Similarly, Fast and the Furious was a horribly conceived operation that gave firearms to Mexican drug cartels, which later came back to kill a Border Patrol Agent. Did Obama directly know about these? Maybe, maybe not, but the fact is that when you are in charge, you must accept full responsibility. I learned as a Sergeant in the military that when a subordinate messes up, it is ultimately your responsibility for failing to provide the training, guidance or climate in which that soldier would have been more successful, the Presidency should be no different.

If the investigations find that the Obama administration knew about Lois Lerner's activities, then impeachment would be the only way forward in my view. A President who's administration knowingly uses a Federal law enforcement agency to target dissenters or political opponents has no business leading the United States of America. Such actions are more akin to a totalitarian regime than a free Republic. Even if I supported Obama to begin with (which I don't, I find him a highly incompetent President), I could not support keeping him in office if it came out that he had sent a Federal agency after his opponents.

Obama is quite a clown, but the worse President we have ever had. He attacks and accuses others of "political stunts" when almost everything he says and does is a political stunt. Obama has been a non-stop political hack/stunt artist for 5.5 years. He never ever left campaign mode in order to actually govern this country, which is vastly different than campaigning. His endless political attacks on people, groups, industries, corporations, etc that he needed to work with in order to accomplish things just poisons the waters. Would you work with or help somebody that went out and called you an unAmerican thief?

Obama and the Democrats can go out and raise a trillion dollars for all the good it will do them. But the facts are the facts. Obama lied to the entire country about Obamacare, with the worse yet to come. Obama's economic policies have gotten us nowhere with miniscule growth and a declining workforce (which deceives people into thinking the unemployment rate is declining). Obama's foreign policy is a joke and a disaster as his weakness emboldens all the bad actors. His unilateral and unconstitutional act of granting amnesty to millions of young illegals in this country set off a stampede of kids from Central America to our borders and Obama's solution is to give them bus and plane rides all across the country where most never show up for their hearings and then stay here forever. And now there is talk of Obama attempting to grant many millions of illegals an amnesty by giving them legal status.

At this point, only low IQ voters, leftist koolaide drinkers and criminals are supporting Democrat candidates. Anybody that knows what is going on, is educated, that loves this country and what it stands for, supports our Constitution and the rule of law, and wants to see the USAs prestige and power returned, knows that the Democrats must be removed from office completely this November. The country cannot take too much more of this lawless, incompetent disaster.

Like the sequester, words about impeachment started in the WH. Law suit for the miss use of Presidents powers, is a fact. Impeachment is not. Used by Democrats to bring in more money just to save the Senate from Republicans. Don't be fooled by their scam. If you don't now how governments three branches are supposed to work, and how this administration wants it to work (pen ad phone President) read up. To have anything done in the Senate one has to be rid of Reid. Use the power of the voting booth.

No surprise here; president Obama to make more useless speeches.

The people talking about impeachment are Democrats; white house staff and Obama; if Obama is tired and bored with his administration; he can do us all a favor and resign effective immediately.
