Stuck on immigration, House GOP delays August recess

Washington (CNN) - On what was supposed to be the last day before summer recess, dysfunction reigned in Congress.

House Republican leaders called off a vote Thursday on their $659 million emergency response to the border influx from Central America overwhelming immigration resources, unable to agree among themselves about what to do.

there is no way for the House to justify providing a lawless dictator with the funding for his lawless behaviors.

    Key concepts from article:
    "dysfunction reigned in Congress"
    "House Republican leaders called off"
" unable to agree among themselves"
"$659 million" – this was around 2 days worth of the Iraq War.

Very pathetic. USA needs immigration laws implemented, at least existing laws. Freeze immigration for a while, till economy gets strong.

anthonytett@yahoo.comlet them run around. The President will not enforce the law no matter what you vote

Democrats wants amnesty, open borders, and decreased enforcement. Obama's bill was mostly to HHS to house people and other things that are not going to solve the problem. The whole thing is a sham and now he is threatening of course to act on his own. Either way the less money that Congress spends the better until the 2008 bill is changed and 2012 DACA is rescinded. If no improvements are going to made to solve the crisis Congress should spend as little as possible.

Don't tell me the "do nothings" might actually attempt to DO something... Hard to believe. Oh I can guess what it is... Build a fence, deport ALL the illegals, give a tax break to the rich folks, whine about unions, increase "user fees" on middle class, and repeal Obamacare, all in the same bill...and then complain that the president is responsible for increasing the defecit. In other words- they'll do nothing substantive...

Yesterday republicans voted to sue Obama for trying to do too much.. today: Oh, we can't do anything so fix it Obama. You can't have it both ways. Reason? Not in the republican party anymore.. that's why I donated $100 to the Democrats just now.

Shame on Speaker Boehner and his leadership team. They allowed extreme right wing insurgents to bring Congressional business to a stand still. Rep Boehner is the WORST Speaker of the House in modern history.

John Boehner is cutless. He allows 30 to 35 tea party folks control our country. He allows Ted Cruz control the nut jobs in the house. Boehner is not a leader.
We should sue and impeach him! He is a terrible leader.
Vote them all out in November! !!! Wake up.

If I were a republican, I would blame Obama for Boehner being an inept worthless over served orange man, completely incapable of leading a one person parade. After all, republicans have no leadership skills, but are good at blaming everyone else for their own failures.

Well, I seen this coming a mile away, the gop has absolutely no desire to solve this, they think Obama will catch the blame, the issue is actually not the issue, the gop is out of control, they do what the Koch brothers tell them, period. It would take a very gullible, naive, or just plain stupid, to not see the gop for what they are, threaten to sue, then tell him to do it, because their unable to help, even if they wanted to, this is your Koch brothers politicians, working to resolve issues important to you, lmao, really am. I'll say it again, getting hard to be a Republican. This is what you can expect, they really don't give a rats ass about what the country wants, only their big donors.

Big democrat donors seem to rally behind the Democrats views, protect our watershed from very toxic tar sands spills, the gop, could care less, the Koch brothers told them what their stance on the issue is, and no surprise, its all lies. Big gop donors, not only tell them what their stance is, they threaten their jobs if they not just vote against their wishes, but to even vote at all, eliminating any chance if something happening on issues that the vast majority want action on, compromise, is not an option.

And the rwnj want you to vote the Democrats out, so they can get us moving again, that's rich, the things you must tolerate, when supporting the Republicans, sad. Its very obvious, to those not blinded by prejudice, of one sort or another, to see the gop, simply can't do anything the public agrees with, and that is the fundamental difference between the very wealthy, and the average worker, carbon copy, we see it on every issue, the people want action, the Koch brothers don't, guess which will continue to happen, as long as the gop is still relevant.

"House Republican leaders called off a vote Thursday on their $659 million emergency response to the border influx from Central America overwhelming immigration resources, unable to agree among themselves about what to do."

But they can agree to blame obama while they do nothing.

Our government is an absolute joke!! So happy I didn't have to go to war for these jerks! Feel so sorry for those who did!
