Rand Paul on Chris Christie in one word: 'Bridges'

(CNN) - They're at it again.

Rand Paul was asked in a recent interview to name one word when he thinks of fellow Republican Chris Christie.

"Bridges?" he said with a knowing grin during a sit-down with KET's Bill Goodman.

The Kentucky senator’s dig marks the latest round in the back-and-forth between the two potential presidential contenders - a feud started last year in a war of words about surveillance and government spending.

Christie’s administration has been rocked by scandal over suggestions top appointees orchestrated the closure of access lanes to the George Washington Bridge last year – causing big traffic tie ups - as political payback for a local mayor who did not back the governor’s reelection.

A state legislative committee is spearheading an investigation, while federal prosecutors are also reviewing the matter.

Although there is no evidence that Christie was involved, the scrutiny and the resulting controversy continues to dog him. It has also raised questions about his leadership and forceful governing style that has been popular with New Jersey voters.

Paul was also asked to briefly describe other potential White House rivals, including Texas Gov. Rick Perry, another conservative with whom Paul has recently sparred.

"It's hard to put it in one word," Paul said. "I like the fact that he has been for more power for states and for less government in his state. We have some disagreements on some other things.

Hillary Clinton? "Yesterday's news," he said.

Barack Obama? "Affable but often ineffectual."

Marco Rubio? "Thoughtful and part of the answer to making our party bigger - a good, new face for our party."

Paul on bridge scandal: People shouldn't feel bullied by govt.

I thought he was going to say "Done" because that's pretty much how it is.

I personally like Rand Paul. He's the only one fighting for the American people right now. People call him extreme, but if it's extreme to protect the constitution then we are in a sad situation in America.

That is the worst photo of Chris Christie , look at his fingers , he wouldn't pass the fitness test , he would't make it past a year in office , then we would be stuck with Mitt Romney or the bimbo Nimrata Nikki Randhawa Haley as president .

As for Randy Paul. he needs to age about 8 more years like a good Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey , he's not yet ready !

What conservatives need is a new party. The tea baggers are extremists who would destroy this country, and the GOP would just prefer to stick their fingers in their ears and close their eyes. I know there are common sense conservatives out there...somewhere, they're just being drowned out by Fox News sheeple.

Blah, blah, blah, blah. Really can't wait to see Thad Cochran,Kevin McCarthy,Thom Tillis,Sheldon Adelson,Rupert Mourdoch,Karl Rove,Lindsey Graham,John McCain,Susan Collins,Hayley Barbour,Grover Norquist and the GOP stuff Jeb Bush down the tea potty's throats EXACTLY like they stuffed Romney down. Straight no chaser. Hillary will drink to that!

Like either of these two have a chance. The GOP can only pander to white, rich, christian people. It doesn't matter who they choose to run at this point, its a demographic that is constantly getting smaller.

Yesterday's news, too funny, he is a comedian now? Its not hard to see at what level of the pond he's fishing. Thank the lord for Rand Paul, he's a liar, a coward, a plagiarist, wants to change Kentucky state election laws to suit his political ambitions, yup, heck of a guy to ask opinions of others. Oh and I'm sure you rwnj have bought his BS hook line, and sinker, but I'm white, and I can tell you he's a racist pig, you don't think he gets enjoyment out of trying to con minorities into thinking he gives a crap, please! What could be more fulfilling than getting them to vote for you, when you actually despise their very existence. You can call me crazy, I don't care, it doesn't take a steam roller to flatten me before I recognize who's trying to harm me.

Chris Christie is like a house of cards made out of bacon-wrapped quadruple-bypass burgers. Even Rand Paul knows that all it takes is one word to bring him down. Here's the question – how stupid do contributors have to be to donate to a Christie PAC? Pretty dense.

That's funny, because if I had to think of one word to describe Rand Paul, it'd be "lunatic"...

Poor Rand. Everything he says is always being taken out of context. Or is it that he actually said something stupid last week, but this weeks he denies what he said last week. He is no different then most Republicans and Tea Bags where denial is a big part of their lives. Just look at how many of then deny the stupidity and dishonesty of the Bush/Cheney Regime. How can anyone in their right minds think that Obama is to blame for the Iraq war. He can't, he voted against it ever starting and has tried to get us out of it, only to get ISIS being stupid. No, Rand Paul, Chris Christy, Rubio and goofy Rick Perry all have NO chance of beating anyone on the left in 2016. They have all proven to all of us they can't govern and most of those I mentioned can't even put a sentence together without lyin about something or just plain ole screwing up the sentence. They are all a lot like G.W. So no, none have a chance to win.
