That time Obama wore a tan suit and Twitter freaked out

(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Thursday took some questions in the White House press briefing room about serious subject matters - ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia.

But the reaction on Twitter was largely focused on his rarely worn tan suit.

Within seconds of stepping into the room, tweets were already firing off about Obama's pre-Labor Day attire. And by the end of the news conference, a few Twitter handles had been created in honor of the suit.

Myself, I just don't thing a tan or any other light colored suit looks very presidential. Dark colored suits are just more impressive.

And keep up the good work, Barry.

Don't let our enemies (ISIS, or the republicans) get to you.

I'd rather that ISIS think we don't have a plan.

    not having a strategy?

That suit should be an impeachable offense – or at least the subject of a law SUIT . Too bad Congress is on vacation so unable to act.

This is just more proof that some people will criticize President Obama over absolutely anything and everything. For you conservative nutjobs, Ronald Reagan wore a tan suit too.

I don't think the President needs a plan. Just continue on as he's doing and we won't need to send troops to the Middle East or Europe we'll be meeting the aggressor here in our own country places like Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. It's just a question of time the longer we take we just allow the enemy to choose the time and place.

I think with Russia invading the Ukraine, wouldn't it be the pot calling the kettle black? Syria and Iraq let them beg for our help. We were there, they told Bush and Obama they did not want us there, they kicked us out. Now let them try to solve they're own demise. Either they are militarially ready or they are not. Help the people that ask and that are willing to fight and have the region realize that they all have a stake in this to get rid of the religious exreme over there. I think President Obama is right, leave it in there hands to stop the bickering and see that different beliefs do not make you less a loyalist to country.

Washington so called journalists are so self absorbed
    and crazy as loons...

No discussion about important policies discussed.

Just some shallow, flimsy criticisms of the President's tan suit...

How far we have fallen as a country and an intellectual powerhouse.

If blaming others for your failures was a sign of leadership. King Barry would be the best leader ever!!!

I'm with you. I don't like this reporting on every move we make. That's never a smart strategy. You keep your enemies guessing. But of course THIS ADMINISTRATION is held to a much higher standard than any before it. Anyone that believes Cheney let people know his real plans are insane.

Obama should have worn a cowboy outfit or his jet pilot suit... then the righties would love him like they did dress up george, the child president.

Actually, I wish he would come out in a neon lime green tux with tails and a matching pimp hat with a zebra band and a spiffy cane... judging by the reaction of the righties over this tan suit.... they would all self immolate on the spot and the country could progress without the slope headed neanderthals holding us back with their 15th century ideas.

Talking about King Barry's tan royal robes is just another way CNN distracts from the real issues at hand. If we criticise his fashing sense, it keeps the dialogue superficial, and it feeds the idea that opposition to King Barry's policy are superificial and lack substance.

I really think this is a tactic. Wouldnt surprise me if a WH operative starting trending these tweets for that very reason. Its called the smoke and mirrors stategy when dealing with low approval ratings.

Don't care what he's wearing any more than I care what color his skin is. I do care about how much money is being borrowed and wasted, and about abuse of authority under the Constitution.

Washington and the national media is so self absorbed, shallow and full of itself...

As usual, they cannot discuss and report important policy issues in an intelligent manner.

The imbeciles in the asylum of the Washington and the national media are reduced to discussing
    the President's tan suit?!

I ,and many others, are sick and tired of the boring funeral suits that worn by all the people with their ties tied too tight
and their heads ready to explode..

Maybe a little change of pace will help open some of the rigidly closed minds that are a main part of the problem in this country and world..

How far we have fallen intellectually in the United States when the color of the President's suit takes precedence
over the importance of his thoughts and words in this difficult and dangerous world....

SCBAMA-I think most of the time input on ideas of different people like all the people who had input on our constitution, is a good thing. I do not think a plumber should take care of my airconditioner, or a concrete worker operate on your tumor on your brain.
