(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Thursday took some questions in the White House press briefing room about serious subject matters - ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia.
But the reaction on Twitter was largely focused on his rarely worn tan suit.
Within seconds of stepping into the room, tweets were already firing off about Obama's pre-Labor Day attire. And by the end of the news conference, a few Twitter handles had been created in honor of the suit.

rs...Are you paying attention to whats happening over there? Did you not listen to Great Britains PM speech this morning? Hey....Sit back, enjoy the last of your summer iced tea and relax. The war will be in your back yard before you know it. Containment of these radicals will not work. They need to be decimated. They are headed here whether you like it or not, UNLESS we take action over there. End of story.

Kudos for giving ISIS the fear factor BS it lives for. Quite pathetic of you.
CNN needs to stop feeding fear as a worthwhile news event in its blog sections.
It's all a smokescreen, people. Obama's people chose the tan suit to take our eyes off the real issue: the color of his tie.
Anybody who care what color suit he wears should get a life

"Getting at least 60 U.S. senators to support a military authorization against Syria is "a work in progress," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid acknowledged Friday while expressing optimism he would be able to reach that goal."
--------------------------------
Do you understand what Reid needing 60 votes means, tom? It means the Republicans filibustered the authorization bill, that's what it means, tom. Republicans opposed letting the authorization come to the floor for discussion and a later vote. Yet, you have people like Jeff Sessions saying stuff like the following.
" Sen. Jeff Sessions – a Republican who has yet to say whether he'll approve President Barack Obama's plan for military strikes in Syria – said at a town hall Friday that the situation in the conflict-torn nation would be far different if George W. Bush was still in the White House."
Sen. Sessions is not being honest with the public, now is he?
@Aonymous...Like I blogged to rs...Sit back and enjoy the iced tea.

Yep. I plan on doing just that ... sitting back and enjoying the last of my summer reading in the sun.
Hey all ... have a wonderful and safe labor day weekend.

There was never an actual vote on Sept. 4, 2013. It was a vote count but it was never actually voted on.
————————————————————————————————-
Yes, there was. An authorization was passed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by a 10-7 vote. Use the archive tool on the right over there. I dare you.
---
That is NOT a vote by congress Rudy. That is a vote by the commitee and there is a big difference and you know it. This is why people call you a liar.
Sessions is playing politics and not caring about the country first. He is a typical politician. It's pathetic. And he is no different from the dems. And something like this should require 60 votes. Do you disagree with that? Were all dems going I vote for it? No.
But the bottom line is that you lied. There was no vote.
I wish the look on Obama's face when he talks about the middle east and Russia wasn't like... I'm just stalling for time until it's no longer my responsibility (probably got a calendar and is crossing off the days too)... it's so sad to see. Perhaps my vote would've been different if I saw what this would've become... next president better grow a backbone and stand for SOMETHING besides corruption. You can count the good things he's done on a telephone keypad and the things he's let get worse under his tenure with the pages of all the phonebooks ever created.

The point Tom is that the GOP was perfectly capable of holding a vote- and elected not to do so thus proving they wanted no part in taking action in Syria-OR BEING RESPONSIBLE for action taken in Syria- despite their weeks of hyper criticism against the Administration- and their photo-op visits to Syria. Let me affirm this: they chose to do noting. Get it?
It is this sort of hair splitting on facts and situations that cause people to think you are a simply a hypocrite.

I don't worry about "ISIS", the GOP is doing their job for them- as are you.
I just find it funny that Michelle malkin thinks her opinions matter...
Well if Twitter "freaks out", I guess we should all sit up and listen 😉
Complaining about the color of Obama's suit is just another reason the people in the USA are no longer admired and have lost the world leadership once given them. We have become petty and dysfunctional.
rs,
There was no vote. That is a fact. That is not hair splitting. And trying to pin it only on repubs rather than both parties shows your hyper partisanship. I am the farthest thing from a hypocrite. I am consistent and have positions on both sides of the aisle. Can you say the same? No. You will support Obama no matter what. You say he is brilliant for leaving Iraq telling everyone our timeline for withdrawal and then say he is brilliant for not letting people know about our strategy with ISIS. That is being a hypocrite.
Does the tan suit look anymore ridiculous than W. wearing a U.S. Air Force pilot's outfit on an aircraft carrier declaring mission accomplished?
Really 2 days of comments about a suit color? You really love your red meat huh Fox-lite?
One would need to speak to the person who dresses him to find out about the suit. The fact of knowing nothing about dealing with ISIS should be obvious by now. He has no idea how to be president or dress himself.
As for Bush and the pilots getup, at least he was one once. Obama was never anything of note.
God once wore a Tan Suit when he banished Satan from heaven and sent him strait to the hot place that noone wants to visit,, i think it was a carnival cruise but i'll have to check my bible.....Charles Bowen Solomon Stone
The 21st century really sucks. This is not how I envisioned the future.
Who cares what color his suite, tie or skin color is.. Nobody with a BRAIN
And now Twitter is writing CNN; no need for real new people.
wow, it" really hard being a black man in America!
Talking about a suit? lol
2 days of red meat yet the Cruz and Mc Daniel articles only garner 20 comments each. They shut down anything about the GOPT fast.
