(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Thursday took some questions in the White House press briefing room about serious subject matters - ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia.
But the reaction on Twitter was largely focused on his rarely worn tan suit.
Within seconds of stepping into the room, tweets were already firing off about Obama's pre-Labor Day attire. And by the end of the news conference, a few Twitter handles had been created in honor of the suit.
@Chris..E.Al
@ s hottie ? I have no respect for 0bama just like most of the free world .
---------
All the polls I have seen of world opinion puts Obama above 50% and way, way, way above W.
Oh sorry – you didn't want facts did you?
He's from alabama. What do you expect....
Pretty soon he'll be exchanging that tan suit for a lawsuit.
Sniffit
"Wow lol....Poe's Law took a dump in your cereal this morning, eh? Bring your sarcasm-o-meter to the shop, dude...it's clearly broken."
Yes, I will drop it off in the morning...
However, I was delighted to win something.
I've never won anything....
Meanwhile, U.S. President Barack Obama is considering airstrikes and humanitarian airdrops to help save thousands of Iraq's Shiite Turkmen, who officials said face potential slaughter by ISIS.
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise (Luke 10:36-37)
Obama can't hold a press conference without the haters seizing on any phrase they can to attack him. In this case, it's his remark that there is no strategy for dealing with ISIS in Syria. These are people who don't even know what a strategy is and have no clue what is required before a strategy can be developed. We're talking about the most complicated region on the planet right now, where numerous anti-government factions are fighting the Assad regime. Most of those factions are not friendly to the West, so our choices are limited in who we can partner with in Syria. We certainly don't want to partner with Assad. These complainers conveniently forget that John McCain, Mr. Decisive, traveled to Syria last year and had his picture taken with ISIS fighters, thinking they were the good guys. McCain's got a strategy. It's called "do something stupid". Don't hear these fools whining about that.
And you are wasting a blog about what color suit he wore?? Talk about nitpicking nothing..! Big DEAL..! It seems that the education of some journalists. Dont go any farther that holding the royal train of Hillary. Waiting for her to touch them so they feel the queens royal touch. Sheese..!!
@Rick McDaniel
"Americans are idiots. seriously."
Well, where are you from? Judging by your posts, I'd say South of Jupiter and just West of sane.
Until we know exactly what our plan should be in attacking ISIS in Syria, we better have a solid strategy that carefully considers long and short-term scenarios. That's what Obama is good at. Jumping into wars without consideration of any of the possible consequences is what most Republicans are good at. As long as they get their war, that's all that matters.
Republicans will complain about the color of President Obama's poop so anyone with half a brain knows they will complain about the clothes he wears. Current republicans are pathetic!
*Yawn*.........uh huh.
Chris...E
And after reading many of your incoherent, or just plain ignorant views--The entire readership here has no respect for you.
I have read all the comments. Not one of you idiots who keeps saying what a horrible President Obama is has put forth a single argument to support their stance. Not one. "We just get it... and no one else does. You know... we are just smarter than everyone else on the planet. I just wish everyone else could realize how awesomely smart we are." You are all caricatures of yourself... doing exactly the thing you are whining about.
It's a damn shame he has to singlehandedly fight terror abroad and at home courtesy of the GOPT! Take a bow GOPT!
I like the fact that Obama is deliberating on what to do instead of jumping into a war without taking all the facts into consideration. Obama has kept us out of war because of the way he tackles decision making.
Some people just like to trash everything about him including the fact that he lives and oh how they hate that he occupies the White House. It is unfortunate that so many like to trash the President and his spouse for so many unfounded reasons. Apparently they can't find any real substance to complain about even though I noticed up thread saying he does nothing. That person should look to Congress if you want to point out people that do nothing to earn their keep. Government cannot move forward without compromise. Instead, our Republican controlled House of Representative sits on their doofus and does nothing to move the country forward. They have too many Tea Party nutcases in their midst.
Tan is such a lovely color on His Obamaness. It pairs well with the sun that so obviously shines out of his backside.
In defense of republicans, if you take away their unnecessary wars, their government shutdowns, their credit downgrades, their government obstruction, their attacks on : women, seniors, veterans, students, minorities, the poor, our environment, record job loss, the Great Recession, failed economic policies, you still have a group of brain dead people with no ideas how to help Americans.
There is a strategy let them handle Ithere them clean up there backyard it feels like the USA is amercenary army almost the strategy is we don't so a darn thing without anyone helping us
No strategy for dealing with ISIS. No strategy for dealing with Russia. Time for a round at Dover.
STOP making Obama news. Love him all you like but this is not a news.
So what is he wearing is a news for CNN. Love him CNN
No news at all LOL
Obamas strategy is easy the USA is not the official bullet stopppers for the world are soldiers are not cannon fodder for your country and if we go into Syria no way in hell we go in it alone the USA should not shouldering this alone
Why do RWNJs fail to recognize that the worst president in history is W based on his failure to protect us on 9-11, started 2 unnecessary wars killing 4500 of our soldiers, was responsible for our Great Recession, added $7 trillion to our national debt, oversaw the failure of banks, auto industry, and the housing market, drove the stock market below 7000, while giving us the biggest job loss in history?
I'm no fan of Obama, but he is one of the few men his age who can carry off such a pale suit. It looks good on him. Maybe not presidential, but handsome.
