That time Obama wore a tan suit and Twitter freaked out

(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Thursday took some questions in the White House press briefing room about serious subject matters - ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia.

But the reaction on Twitter was largely focused on his rarely worn tan suit.

Within seconds of stepping into the room, tweets were already firing off about Obama's pre-Labor Day attire. And by the end of the news conference, a few Twitter handles had been created in honor of the suit.

Talk about a double standard. Don't talk about what women wear but it's fine to talk about what our male President wears.

I think he looks good in tan. And that is about all the comment an article about the president's suit color should garner, because it is irrelevant to anything else about how he does his job or whether you approve of him or not. The constant critics should give it a rest and come up for air at least once in a while.

Have to feel for Republicans... They have been reduced to fashion critics... Normally reserved for the Rainbow coalition.

glad to see we are permitted by our corporate overlords to have our voices be heard on comments section about such silly meaningless subjects, but not on matters that are important and shape the world we live in in an almost invariably negative way and leads ultimately to unnecessary suffering for the vast majority

The man can not do anything without the critics screaming as if the world is about to come to an end. A suit!??!? Really! Come on now – there had to be something else to complain about rather than a the color of the suit. Has anyone complained there were not enough American flags or the fact he did not use a TelePrompter or more importantly we are forget to mention how well our economy is doing?

The right wingers and critics really have nothing else to complain about so they try a reach for comments on a suit. Sorry America but I seriously think we have jumped the shark when people are talking about the suit.

Our nation is basically driverless, with threats overseas and fraud and corruption at home increasing daily, and you waste time about the Prez Lite wearing a tan suit one time? How about a story on how the national media let us all down by shielding instead of vetting this non-leader in the White House? We warned you all that he voted "present" all tough issues... Why would anyone be surprised that the lights are on at the White House, but nobody is home?

The T Bags want to start another war so badly. So they can sing patriotic song and wave flags at the nascar races while troops die.

After reading these comments (actually, skimming them because the drivel would have made me ill had I actually read it), I have to say that the Moderators must really be determined to let only the most ignorant posts stand. I'd love to see their moderating rubric. All I see on here are angry Democrats ignorantly blaming the GOP for everything, and a few Centrists and Rightists who can't write (that must be why they didn't get moderated out). What happened to all of the other posts, Moderators????? You going to post this? I dare you to.

We don't have a plan yet That's the Obama is dumb. If he would have had proper Surveillance done he would have known the threat by now instead of sending special ops where the people used to be. Obama can say whatever and blame whomever he wants and your to stupid to think any different. When is the last time a lawyer told you the truth? Obama is a lawyer. I feel sorry for the people who worship Obama. Some times I think about when "JESUS said, "Please forgive them for they know not what they do!" I don't think Obama worshipers have really seen they are Obama's pawns.

CNN has zero spine. They have shut down virtually all comments sections because people are so sick and tired of our incompetent President Obama and CNN is practically a division of the White House press corps. Disgraceful.

And this in a nutshell is why we have crappy government. people are more focused on what our president is wearing than what he's doing for the country. yes, FOR, NOT TO! If people don't start paying attention to what is going on in the country and the world and stop electing idiots, this great country is going to go down the drain. we have a president who actually thinks before he invades, and cares about all of the American people, not just the billionaires. we need to give him a congress that will work with him and not AGAINST US! what the repugs have been doing since he was first elected is nothing short of treason.

If John McCain had been elected in 2008, we would probably be fighting a minimum of 15 wars. Congress would have had to reinstate the draft because the All Volunteer Military would not have been able to supply enough troops. And talk about debt - the long term debt of Iraq and Afghanistan is estimated to be at least $6 Trillion. What would McCain's debt be? Unimaginable.

.....and the tan suit is a problem because?.......Some people don't have enough to do or talk about. (Actually, I thought he looked very nice). However, I was more interested in what he had to say. I must be abnormal. Gotta do something about that.
