That time Obama wore a tan suit and Twitter freaked out

(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Thursday took some questions in the White House press briefing room about serious subject matters - ISIS, Iraq, Syria, Russia.

But the reaction on Twitter was largely focused on his rarely worn tan suit.

Within seconds of stepping into the room, tweets were already firing off about Obama's pre-Labor Day attire. And by the end of the news conference, a few Twitter handles had been created in honor of the suit.

No matter what color the suit is, it is still an empty suit if it is Obama's suit.

@No Plan – "He has no plans and no real foreign policies except lead from behind and continue to be politically correct towards radical Muslims."
If I hear one more hater spout the "lead from behind" meme I swear I'll explode! That term ORIGINALLY meant that our country was behind others when this President took over because of our debt due the unnecessary wars during the Bush years and the Great Recession so THIS President had to lead a country that found itself behind others in the did NOT mean President Obama himself was leading from behind but that is how the Repubs/Faux News twisted it and unfortunately it has stuck.

His strategy is to help his side (isis) win the war against the infidels.

    @Rudy NYC

    You totally missed the point.

Liberals read and hear only what they want to align to their ideology.

It's not about signaling our plans. Radical Islam is not limited to a particular set of countries. It is now a world wide epidemic and a cancer on the globe as a whole.

Is America going to have a policy to rid the world of this sick group of radicals where ever they exist?

Or, are you okay with the approach of apologizing to the Muslim world that speaks of having a peaceful religion?

They need to be held accountable.

    Step up or Step aside.

    No more bs

Don't get why anyone wears a tan suit, but I really don't get why anyone cares what he wears. Aren't there more important thing to be concerned with?

This is how low journalism has sunk in America. You are honestly printing something on the color of Obama's suit when a third of the country lives in poverty, middle class wages have been stagnant for 30 years, the minimum wage reached its highest purchasing power in 1969, and the 1% control 90% of the wealth in this country? You are a disgrace to journalism for even running this story. Go work at People magazine instead. It's no wonder CNN is such a lousy network.

Obama has been dealing with Iraq for six years. They have been monitoring the rise of militant groups in the Syrian civil war for three years. ISIS (or ISIL) captured the city of Fallujah in Iraq eight months ago. Now he tells us they no plan for going after ISIS in Syria? Even if there is no plan, you should never publicly disclose that information.

For all of you who think the talk about ISIS is warmongering, this morning the UK just raised their terror alert level by one notch. This organization is a lot more dangerous than the old Al-Qaeda ever was. Go ahead and scoff, you do so at your own peril.

beyond pathetic. Commander Kluck has taken irrelevance to new depths. So now the media doesn't even bother to waste time on the Presidents' cluelessness

It's Tanghazi! I think he looks quite handsome as usual. It is no wonder folks have so little faith in the media -the color of his suit, really. And Michele Malkin, talk about an empty suit (or skirt). That is one vile woman.

The Prez looked just fine in his summer suit. Can't believe folks are making a big deal about what he wears. While it was imprudent for him to say that we have no strategy to deal with ISIS, the guy is doing a fantastic job otherwise. Look where the country is today versus our state in 2008. One verbal miscue does not a bad president make (except with W it was verbal miscues and incompetence galore).

Pretty sad that the most some people got out of that news conference was the color of his suit.

the suite looked fine. I thought it was about the press conference. I thought he was very honest to say we don't have a plan yet . To many people pushing us to go to Syria . This whole region is a mess and what ever we do will cause a problem somewhere else.

No Plan is sure better than the w-cheney plan to invade Iraq.

And righties say we should get over that, but the needless and criminal invasion of Iraq is still the major force shaping events in that part of the world.

"His strategy is to help his side (isis) win the war against the infidels."

You need to study up, mikey.
Quick little lesson... Who ran against Obama the first time he won the Presidency? john mccain... good, you're doing great.
So they have different strategies for handling stuff and barely agree on anything, right? Good.. good...
Now just a few months ago, john mccain posed for photos with who? Isis... correct.
Who ranted and raved that we support Isis by giving them weaponry? Yes, it was mccain.
Now please review the lesson and tell us again who supports Isis.

You have 30 minutes and this will count for 30% of your final grade...
