
Hong Kong (CNNMoney) - The Obama administration will file a complaint Monday with the World Trade Organization, alleging that China has illegally subsidized automotive exports and undercut American suppliers.
The complaint accuses China of providing $1 billion in illegal subsidies to auto and auto-part exporters between 2009 and 2011, according to a senior administration official.

North Canton, Ohio (CNN) – Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan said China was treating President Barack Obama "like a doormat" because he's not going after them for unfair trade policies.
"They steal our intellectual property right. They block access to their markets. They manipulate their currency," Ryan said Thursday. "President Obama promised he would stop these promises. He said he'd go to the mat with China. Instead they're treating him like a doormat."

(CNN) - After Mitt Romney's campaign said the candidate would "stand up to China on trade" in a new ad this week, former GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman on Thursday said Romney was using "typical" campaign rhetoric.
"This is a typical trajectory, where during a campaign season you're going to talk about China in ways that you're hearing today," Huntsman, also a former U.S. Ambassador to China, said on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida stood by Mitt Romney in his reaction to the U.S. handling of a Chinese dissident this week, saying the presumptive GOP presidential nominee did not overreact to the situation.
"I think this crisis is a reminder of what we are dealing with in China," Rubio told "Fox News Sunday." "And we hope that there are reformers in that government that are pushing for a more open system."

"My concern at this moment is for the safety of Chen Guangcheng and his family," Romney said in a statement released by his campaign on Sunday. "My hope is that U.S. officials will take every measure to ensure that Chen and his family members are protected from further persecution."

(CNN) - On day three of his west coast swing, President Barack Obama will head to a Boeing assembly facility in Everett, Washington Friday to make a case for increasing American exports.
According to the White House, Obama will speak about providing export financing to American manufacturing companies, expanding support for small business. During his remarks Obama will also outline a proposal to reorganize the agencies responsible with trade and competitiveness.
