Rubio: Bergdahl swap puts Americans in danger
(CNN) - Marco Rubio on Wednesday added his voice to GOP-fueled criticism over the U.S. decision to swap five terror detainees for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
Rubio told CNN's Wolf Blitzer that President Barack Obama, by authorizing the swap, has endangered “countless American men and women in uniform across the globe."
Jim Webb weighs in on his political future
(CNN) - Former Democratic Sen. Jim Webb is still not ruling out a potential presidential bid.
"We're taking this one day at a time," Webb said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" when asked if he was interested in the presidency.

"We have now set a price," the Michigan Republican said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union." "We have a changing footprint in Afghanistan, which would put our soldiers at risk for this notion that 'If I can get one, I can get five Taliban released.'"
Susan Rice responds to political debate over negotiations for soldier's release
(CNN) – White House national security adviser Susan Rice defended the Obama administration's decision to exchange Guantanamo detainees for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, amid criticism that the United States negotiated with terrorists in the process.
She also said the “acute urgency” of Bergdahl’s health condition justified President Obama’s not notifying Congress beforehand that Bergdahl was being swapped for five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo Bay.
Valerie Plame: CIA outing 'colossally stupid'
(CNN) - Another CIA official whose cover was blown by a presidential administration said the inadvertent outing of an intelligence official in Afghanistan by the White House was “colossally stupid” and will have repercussions for the intelligence community.
But Valerie Plame, whose identity was infamously leaked by the Bush administration in 2003 and touched off a scandal, said on Wednesday it’s an apples to oranges comparison as it appears to be a mistake, rather than a malicious takedown.
White House orders review of accidental CIA leak
(CNN) - White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough has ordered a review of how the name of the CIA station chief in Afghanistan was inadvertently released to reporters, Deputy National Security Advisor Antony Blinken told CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
"It shouldn't have happened. We're trying to figure out why it happened. In fact, Chief of Staff Denis McDonough asked the White House consel to look into it, to figure out what happened and to make sure it won't happen again," Blinken said in an interview that will air Tuesday on "The Situation Room" at 5 p.m. ET.

Miller: VA issues 'much larger' than Shinseki
(CNN) - Congressional chairmen of the House and Senate veterans affairs committees are still backing embattled VA Secretary Eric Shinseki, for now, amid a growing chorus of lawmakers calling for his resignation over the scandal that's rocked the agency.
Rep. Jeff Miller, a Republican from Florida and chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, told CNN's Candy Crowley on Sunday that the issues with the VA are "much larger than the secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs."
Former VA secretary: Obama's ‘not taking responsibility’ for agency's misconduct
(CNN) - Former Veterans Affairs chief Jim Nicholson said President Barack Obama is "not taking responsibility" for the ongoing scandal that has rocked the agency under his administration's watch.
In an interview on Friday with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Nicholson also hit back at Obama’s sharp criticism of his tenure leading the VA, calling into question the former senator’s commitment to the cause when he severed on the Veterans Affairs Committee.
"He was on the committee but he never showed up," Nicholson said, appearing on "The Situation Room."

Deval Patrick on Hillary Clinton: 'I worry a little bit'
(CNN) – Gov. Deval Patrick said he's concerned that the early attention surrounding Hillary Clinton's potential 2016 presidential bid could spoil her prospects.
Asked on CNN's "State of the Union" if he thinks the former secretary of state will go "all the way" in 2016, the Massachusetts Democrat said, "I don't know."
