
(CNN) – Mitt Romney – who, according to polls, faces a sizeable deficit among Latinos – needs to find better ways to make connections with those key voters, former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Wednesday.
Speaking on CNN's "John King, USA," Gonzales, a Republican, said Romney's past statements about policies affecting Latinos, including his policy of "self-deportation," will be hard for him to reverse.

(CNN) – Ohio Gov. John Kasich, a Republican, said on CNN's "John King, USA" that President Barack Obama's economic policies have created "a wind in my face" as he had worked to grow the state's economy.
He suggested that the state's Republican senator, Rob Portman, would be a "great pick" for Mitt Romney's vice presidential candidate, but deflected the suggestion that he might run.
"I'm not even going to express no interest because that indicates interest," he said.

(CNN) – Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota said Tuesday that she has recently spoken with likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney, though she did not offer an endorsement of her one-time rival.
In the appearance on CNN's "John King, USA," Bachmann said she sees the GOP coming together, and wants to be "a voice of uniting our party."

(CNN) - Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, weighed in on Rick Santorum's exist from the presidential race on Tuesday, saying he expects the Republican Party to unite behind Mitt Romney in the coming weeks.
"I think time heals some wounds, and I also think over time, over the next several weeks, I think our party gets completely unified," Priebus said on CNN's "John King, USA."
(CNN) - While Rick Santorum insists he'll pull a victory in his home state of Pennsylvania later this month, another former high-profile senator from the Keystone State said that won't happen.
"This campaign is over for Rick Santorum," Arlen Specter said Thursday of his former supporter. "There's nothing left of his candidacy."
