McCain: If election were tomorrow, Clinton would be president

(CNN) - Sen. John McCain predicted if voters headed to the polls for the 2016 elections tomorrow, Hillary Clinton would be most likely be elected president - though the former secretary of state wouldn't be his pick.

Asked by CNN's Piers Morgan on Thursday about 2012 Republican presidential candidate and Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann's recent assessment that America isn't ready for a female president, McCain said they have a different reading on the current political landscape.

Donald Trump on Obama's ‘selfie,’ unemployment and 2016 unknowns

(CNN) - Outspoken billionaire Donald Trump weighed in on public outrage over President Barack Obama's perceived faux pas on his trip to South Africa, as well as the possibility of a yet-to-be known political star in 2016, in an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan Wednesday.

The real estate titan also said the "real" rate of unemployment could be as much as double the 7 percent that's being reported with so many Americans giving up looking for a job.

CNN Interview: Clinton suggests Putin can be trusted

(CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin can be trusted, but cautioned the United States will "just have to see what happens" over efforts to disarm Syria of its chemical weapons.

"You work for the best and prepare for the worst in this business. But I think it would be a terrible mistake not to take advantage of the opportunity," he told CNN's Piers Morgan at the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting in New York. "And, you know, look, Mr. Putin is very smart."

Carter weighs in on Oscar-nominated 'Argo'

(CNN) - Former President Jimmy Carter offered his unique insight and perspective on the motion picture "Argo," an Oscar-nominated film that's based on actual events occurring during his presidency.

While he said the movie was a "great drama," Carter told CNN's Piers Morgan there was one key discrepancy.

"Ninety percent of the contributions to the ideas and the consummation of the plan was Canadian," Carter said. "The movie gives almost full credit to the American CIA. And with that exception, the movie's very good."

Jimmy Carter: No relationship with Obama

(CNN) – The nation's 39th president has no relationship with its 44th.

That's how Jimmy Carter described his interaction with President Barack Obama in an interview with CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" last January. Carter will sit down with Morgan again for an interview set to air Thursday.

Dick Morris: 'I was wrong at the top of my lungs'

(CNN) - A political analyst who predicted that GOP nominee Mitt Romney would win the White House in November says Fox News may have ousted him from their payroll to make him a "poster child."

Fox did not renew its contract with Dick Morris, he said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Wednesday. The conservative pollster said the reason is "because I was wrong, and I was wrong at the top of my lungs."

Lieberman continues to defend Rice amid GOP criticism

(CNN) - Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut parted with two of his close friends in the Senate - Sen. John McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham - on the question of Susan Rice's role after the Libya consulate attack and whether it could affect a potential cabinet nomination.

"I've been over all of the intelligence that we had before she went on TV that Sunday morning, I went over all of her comments. I don't think she's disqualified based on anything she said that morning," the senator said, reiterating his defense of the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Crist on party-switch: GOP has become 'strident and more difficult'

(CNN) - Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist explained Monday his recent switch to the Democratic Party, saying the GOP has become "less tolerant (and) less welcoming."

"I didn't leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me," Crist said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight," repeating a line he used at the Democratic National Convention. "Issue after issue they seem to get more strident and more difficult."
