Yet that task awaits the two candidates in Hawaii's Democratic Senate primary as their race lies deadlocked and the majority of the votes they'll need to win lie in an area hit hard by a weekend storm.

During civil exchanges across 90-minutes stood two Virginians pushing different ideas but also outsize caricatures of the other.
On one side: Gillespie's branding of Warner as a political lapdog for President Barack Obama who's responsible for job-killing policies and who promised to be independent – but is not. Washington (CNN) – After intense fighting among warring militias forced the evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Libya, one top House Republican criticized the Obama administration's overall policy towards the North African nation.
"I think having removed [Moammar] Gadhafi, the administration sort of took its focus off of Libya and things have been getting worse for quite some considerable time now," Rep. Ed Royce said Saturday in a CNN interview.
Protestors vent anger at 'alien invasion' of U.S. in 2-day nationwide protests
Washington (CNN) – They're mad as hell and don't want to take it anymore.
Amid the surge of unaccompanied immigrant children illegally crossing into the U.S. along the southern border, some Americans are venting their anger in the streets on Friday and Saturday, calling it an "alien invasion" of the U.S. and warning of a national security and "health and safety concern."
"It is a sad state of affairs for those kids," one protester said. "But it's not our job to take care of them."
Throngs of Americans are participating in a so-called "National Day of Protesting Against Immigration Reform, Amnesty & Border Surge." An announcement lists events in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia over the two days.
