Jindal on Obamacare sign-ups: So what
Washington (CNN) - Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a possible contender for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, waved off the Obama administration's jubilance over this week’s news that more than 7 million people have signed up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
“So what that under the threat of a government mandate they are able to get to this target of 7.1 million?” Jindal said Wednesday.

Harry Reid push called 'un-American' in new ad
Washington (CNN) - American Encore, a new conservative group created by outside money specialist Sean Noble, is airing a television ad in Nevada attacking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for proposing IRS regulations that would rein in outside political groups.
The minute-long spot features a clip of Reid on the Senate floor blasting the billionaire business titans Charles and David Koch, who have steered hundreds of millions of dollars to conservative causes in recent election cycles without disclosing their donors, "as un-American as anyone that I can imagine."

MLK praise scrubbed from Bill Clinton speech
Washington (CNN) – A pair of lines praising Martin Luther King, Jr. were scrubbed from an early version of President Bill Clinton's 1998 State of the Union address, apparently after someone in the White House raised questions about how the rhetorical flourishes would play with white people.
A rough draft of the 1998 speech was included in a new batch of previously withheld documents released by the National Archives and the Clinton Presidential Library on Friday. It included a passage about racial healing, tentatively titled "One America In The 21st Century."
Democratic pollster predicts 'huge turnout disadvantage' in 2014
Washington (CNN) - A leading Democratic pollster predicted a "sobering" turnout disadvantage for her party in this year's midterm elections and called on Democrats to articulate "a bigger economic agenda" this fall.
"There is a huge turnout disadvantage and challenge," Democratic pollster Celinda Lake said Tuesday at a breakfast with reporters. "There is always a challenge in turnout in an off year, but it's really dramatic this time."

Perry hoping for ‘a second chance’ from voters
National Harbor, Maryland (CNN) – On the heels of a rousing morning address to the Conservative Political Action Conference that brought a sleepy audience to its feet many times over, Texas Gov. Rick Perry had a bounce in his step.
He hosted a meet-and-greet with conservative activists, young and old, in a corner room at the Gaylord National Resort outside Washington. The line snaked out the door and down the hall. He crossed paths with major conservative donors.
In South Carolina, Clinton forces try to tap Obama magic
Columbia, South Carolina (CNN) - To hear some tell it, the 2008 South Carolina primary clash between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton was a few steps away from a full-blown race riot.
"It was unbelievable down here in 2007 and 2008," said Bridget Tripp, a Democratic organizer from Lexington who supported Obama in that year's primary. "Bill Clinton was going through downtown Columbia calling Barack Obama a racist."

Washington (CNN) - An independent group supporting Texas Gov. Rick Perry is running a new television ad in Illinois aimed at luring new business to the Lone Star State.
The 30-second commercial stars Perry, standing before the state capitol building in Austin, looking straight into the camera and highlighting Texas' business-friendly tax and regulatory climate.
