
Dodge City, Iowa (CNN) – On Thursday, Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty put a fresh twist on his recent tactic of calling out his GOP opponents - in this case lumping Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann together in a single slam.
The former Minnesota governor also talked about the political perils of chronically ranking "sixth or seventh place" in recent polls.

Ames, Iowa (CNN) – Presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty continued his appeal for votes on Thursday by playing up his executive experience as the former governor of Minnesota.
And as he faces stubbornly low poll numbers in the Republican race for the White House, the candidate appears to be working to gain more traction by repeatedly highlighting his accomplishments in order to contrast with the shortcomings of his opponents. But he avoids throwing sharp elbows by mentioning names.

Washington (CNN) - Getting politicians to keep their answers short is tough. On Wednesday, six of them will be forced to by the confines of Twitter.
In what's being billed as "groundbreaking," six of the 10 major Republican presidential candidates will participate in a Twitter presidential debate. They will answer questions in 140 characters or less. That, of course, is the maximum number of characters allowed per tweet. Organizers of the debate say they will allow the candidates to type multiple tweets - but that short answers are still encouraged.

Washington (CNN) – Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign is giving its version of what happened at a campaign appearance on Tuesday amid claims that two Bachmann bodyguards "manhandled" a reporter who was trying to question the presidential candidate.
At issue is an altercation involving the Minnesota Republican and ABC News investigative reporter Brian Ross at a campaign stop in Aiken, South Carolina.

FULL STORY(CNN) – South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint – a major booster of the Tea Party movement – is expected to speak with activists about the U.S. budget and the nation's debt ceiling in a "Tele-TownHall" phone conference Wednesday evening.
An email to conservative activists obtained by CNN says DeMint will also discuss the "Cut, Cap & Balance Pledge," a contract that opposes raising the nation's debt ceiling without major spending cuts and a balanced budget amendment.

Des Moines, Iowa (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is getting more creative, and apparently more aggressive, in her political attacks against President Barack Obama.
On Saturday, the Minnesota congresswoman took fresh jabs at the president. In one instance, Bachmann said she hoped to oust him from his current employment, become president herself - and then help Obama find a job. Bachmann also blasted "Obamacare," saying it would cost American jobs and questioning if Obama "was in his right mind" for championing it.

Iowa City, Iowa (CNN) – Mere days after two top staffers resigned from Herman Cain's presidential campaign, two others have also called it quits.
Tina Goff, the Iowa organizational director, confirms to CNN that she left the campaign on Friday. Goff also said that another Iowa staffer - Straw Poll coordinator Kevin Hart - resigned that day. The Cain campaign confirmed both developments.
