Washington (CNN) - California Republican Rep. Gary Miller announced Wednesday he would not run for re-election in November, giving Democrats a good chance to pick up his seat in the midterm election.
"It has been a great honor to spend so many years in public service, striving to make a difference for Southern California families. While there is still a lot of work to be done, it is now time for me to pass the baton. I will not seek re-election to Congress at the end of this term," Miller said in a statement.
(CNN) - A conservative activist who's challenging a top House Republican Wednesday landed an endorsement from a leading national tea party organization.
But that doesn't seem to be fazing the congressman, Rep. Pete Sessions.
