(CNN) - House Republicans are delaying a vote scheduled for Thursday evening on Speaker John Boehner's latest debt ceiling proposal, according to a statement from the chamber's second-ranking Democrat. A Republican source said the vote would still happen Thursday night.
The move indicated possible difficulty in lining up sufficient Republican support to pass the measure.

The House dramatically rejected an earlier version of the plan on Monday, dealing a stinging defeat to the White House and Congressional leaders, who had spent more than a week negotiating the deal.
