Romney bus tour's immigration detour

Milford, New Hampshire (CNN) – As he embarked on a carefully crafted bus tour through six battleground states, Mitt Romney found when it comes to driving the day's agenda, sometimes it's the man sitting in the White House who's behind the wheel.

The president's move Friday to halt the deportations of young illegal immigrants didn't change Romney's first campaign event at Scamman Farm, the same place in Stratham where he launched his presidential bid last June.

Team Gingrich takes down Spanish-language ad

Coral Springs, Florida (CNN) - The Newt Gingrich campaign has taken off the air a Spanish-language radio spot not long after an influential Florida senator lambasted the presidential candidate for releasing an "inaccurate" and "inflammatory" ad about Mitt Romney's immigration record.

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio sharply criticized Gingrich Wednesday for running the ad, which calls Romney "the most anti-immigration candidate."

Perry to meet with S.C. governor

Gray Court, South Carolina (CNN) - Rick Perry's trip to South Carolina Tuesday will include a meeting with the state's governor, Nikki Haley.

CNN confirmed Monday evening that Perry will also meet with Jim DeMint, an influential Republican senator from the Palmetto State.
