MSNBC apologizes for 'ill-advised' Cinco de Mayo segment

(CNN) - The anchor of MSNBC's "Way Too Early" apologized Tuesday for "ill-advised" references to Mexicans and Cinco de Mayo.

Thomas Roberts, who hosts the show from 5:30 a.m. to 6 a.m., told viewers via Twitter that a segment that featured a correspondent in a sombrero swilling tequila was not intended to demean Mexicans.

Journalist: Snowden has more documents that could harm U.S.

(CNN) - American intelligence leaker Edward Snowden has more damaging information that could be a "nightmare" for the U.S. government, a journalist who first published his documents said.

Glenn Greenwald of the Guardian told an Argentine newspaper, La Nacion, that releasing more information to hurt the United States is not Snowden's goal.

National Rifle Association to sponsor NASCAR race in Texas

(CNN) - The National Rifle Association will sponsor the NASCAR Sprint Cup event in Texas on April 13, Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage announced Monday.

The race will be called the NRA 500 and will be run during prime time.

New York's brash former mayor, Ed Koch, dies at 88

(CNN) - Ed Koch, the brash former New York City mayor who typically greeted constituents with a "How'm I doin'?" died Friday at the age of 88, his spokesman said.

Koch died of congestive heart failure, spokesman George Arzt said.

Obama talks about 'worst day of my presidency,' goals for next term

(CNN) - President Barack Obama appeared on NBC's "Meet The Press" on Sunday, talking about the "fiscal cliff" negotiations and priorities for his administration in his second term.

The president told host David Gregory that he was optimistic something will be worked out to keep tax rates from rising on Tuesday - but if not, his first piece of legislation for the next Congress will be a bill to reduce tax rates on most Americans.
